I returned this vehicle because it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which I reported shortly after pickup. Three other people also smelled the vehicle and confirmed the odor.
Rather than addressing my concern, the host attributed the smell to the heat and suggested I hadn’t allowed the AC to circulate long enough. His responses were very dismissive and patronizing.
The host personally told me he last cleaned the vehicle on September 4, approximately two weeks before my pickup, after the previous renter returned it. There was also trash between the seats and a container of Vaseline left in the rear window in the sun. Those conditions proved that the vehicle was not properly checked before my trip. (If it was then we wouldn’t be here today.)
After I returned the car over these concerns, the host gave me a one-star review, which is ABSOLUTELY RETALIATORY! Reporting an issue with the vehicle’s condition should not result in being dismissed and then poorly rated for returning it.
The smoke odor, leftover trash, and unprofessional handling of my concerns made this an unacceptable experience.
To the host: a clean vehicle and a respectful response to a reported problem are REASONABLE EXPECTATIONS. Your handling of this situation gave me no confidence in renting from you ever again. When you choose to list your vehicle for others to rent, you take responsibility for its condition and how you respond to concerns. The lack of accountability and empathy I experienced undermines customer trust and that can cost you future business.
If you’re considering booking, especially if you’re a nonsmoker, be aware of this experience. This is a rental I would not recommend.

False review. Why would a host have their car smelling like smoke, is what a reasonable person will ask. I don’t charge or report people for smoking in the car if I don’t smell it. Also I said the last time the car was rented was September 4th. Just say you wanted your money back after you came very late to pick up the car. It’s unfortunate Turo let guest leave false review without evidence or pictures. I hope this changes soon.
Had a flat when I got the car, but he came and fixed it, and the car has electric issues. Overall it was next time I'll rent a better car.

Thank you for review. However, A radio glitch is not an electric issue or safety issue. Also car had no flat tire when it was delivered. The car was driven almost 200 miles before reported leak. Check the uploaded pictures of before and after mileage. The reason you were able to drive with a nail in tires is because all tires are almost new.
Car was making a strange sound from pick up. A week later the air conditioning went out, the next day the car started smoking and cut off on key

I had a great experience from start to finish. The car was exactly as described, clean, and drove perfectly. The pickup and return process was quick and easy. Best was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made sure I had everything I needed throughout the trip. They answered my questions promptly and made the entire rental process stress-free. I would definitely rent from Best again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable vehicle and an excellent host!
