This was, without question, one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had, and the vehicle should not be on the road, let alone listed for rent.

The car is mechanically unsafe. At highway speeds the entire vehicle shakes so violently that your voice literally vibrates when you try to speak. This is not normal road vibration or a minor tire balance issue. It feels like a serious suspension, wheel, or drivetrain defect that should immediately disqualify the vehicle from being rented to anyone. It was not only uncomfortable but genuinely concerning to operate.

The driver’s side mirror shakes uncontrollably as well. The vibration is so severe that it becomes difficult to see clearly out of it, especially at speed. This is not a cosmetic issue. It is a legitimate safety hazard that makes lane changes and basic awareness far more dangerous than they should ever be.

The window tint is also blatantly illegal and unsafe. We had the tint inspected by Sedona Police Department, which confirmed the entire front windshield is tinted at 13 percent. Both the driver and passenger front windows are also tinted at 13 percent.

Arizona law is clear. The front windshield cannot be fully tinted, and front side windows must allow approximately 33 percent visible light transmission, plus or minus 3 percent. This vehicle is nowhere close to compliant. The tint is so dark that visibility at night is significantly reduced, and it puts the renter at risk of being stopped or cited for operating an illegal vehicle. Renters should never be placed in that position. We had to walk 30 min into town and back in evenings because of this. We also could not go on our early morning or evening hikes! What a honeymoon!!

To make matters worse, the owner’s communication was condescending and passively aggressive. Instead of addressing serious safety concerns professionally, the responses came off dismissive and defensive. When a renter reports violent shaking, a useless mirror, and illegal tint, the appropriate response is accountability and corrective action, not attitude.

This vehicle should not be listed on Turo in its current condition. It is unsafe, likely illegal to operate as equipped, and the owner’s communication only makes the situation worse.

I strongly recommend anyone considering this rental choose another vehicle. No trip is worth risking your safety, your visibility at night, or potential legal trouble. This was an unacceptable experience from beginning to end.

Easy to work with, truck was clean. Would recommend some different tires, the tires currently on the truck cause a lot of road noise.
