Fabulous vehicle for a family trip in and around Edinburgh. James was great to work with. Absolutely would rent again!

Great car, very spacious and good mileage! Good communication with the owner. Would rent it again!

Drove all over Scotland with my wife and 3 teenagers and had plenty of room. Car was great, great mileage which was good with diesel being expensive at this time. Pickup and drop off super easy too.
Stanley was great. Excellent communication. Car was great and worked for 7 of us and a bunch of luggage.
James was great and very easy to work with. We had a lot of folks and shifting situations, and he was incredibly flexible!

Vehicle was fantastic. Clean, comfortable, and well maintained. James was courteous and hospitable and easy to work with.

The host was amazing with communication and the car with the Thule top storage made our trip comfortable for the 8 days across Scotland. We had a lovely trip and returned the car so dirty due to snow and salty roads. The prepaid wash was certainly in order. Thank you Stanislav for trusting us with your car.

We rented a car from Armando, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. He was very friendly, helpful, and took the time to guide us properly about the car, which made everything smooth and stress-free. The car itself was perfect for our needs. It was very comfortable for all 7 passengers, with plenty of space for a long journey. It had all the necessary facilities, making the trip enjoyable and convenient. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend renting from Armando for anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable car, especially for long trips.
The car was good. It was a bit old and the seats all showed age but generally happy with the car. Only comment is that it does not have cruise control. At the right price this could be a good car for anyone who’s looking for six or seven seats.

We were able to fit our family of 9 and all our luggage as we drove around Scotland. James was great to deal with and the car was in very good, clean condition.

We had a great trip with this comfortable and spacious car . The owner was very nice and ready on time ! Perfect !
Shahzad was great, really helpful & friendly. Car was in great condition and just what we needed. Would highly recommend and will definitely be a return customer!

They're ideal for family outings to nearby attractions or business trips with colleagues. Minivans provide excellent visibility, making it easier to navigate Edinburgh's historic streets and enjoy scenic drives through the Scottish countryside.
Edinburgh Zoo is a must-visit attraction for families and animal enthusiasts. Home to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, including the famous giant pandas, it offers an unforgettable experience. A minivan hire makes the journey comfortable and convenient, with ample space for everyone and any essentials like picnic baskets or pushchairs. The zoo provides ample parking, but arriving early is recommended, especially during peak seasons. After your visit, you can easily continue your Edinburgh adventure, perhaps heading to nearby Corstorphine Hill for panoramic city views.
The Scottish Borders, just south of Edinburgh, offer a picturesque road trip opportunity. A minivan rental is perfect for this journey, providing comfort for all passengers during the drive. You can explore charming towns like Melrose, home to the stunning Melrose Abbey, or visit Sir Walter Scott's former residence at Abbotsford House. The journey showcases Scotland's breathtaking landscapes and rich history.
Edinburgh's Royal Mile, stretching from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace, is the heart of the Old Town. A hired minivan offers the flexibility to create your own city tour, easily moving between key attractions like St Giles' Cathedral and the Scottish Parliament. It's particularly useful for groups or families with children or elderly members who might find extensive walking challenging. Parking can be limited on the Royal Mile itself, but there are several car parks nearby. Consider visiting early morning or evening to avoid peak tourist times and enjoy a more relaxed exploration of this historic thoroughfare.
When hiring a minivan in Edinburgh, book early to secure the best deals, especially during festival seasons. Choose a vehicle with ample boot space for luggage and any souvenirs you might acquire. Familiarise yourself with the vehicle's dimensions, as some of Edinburgh's older streets can be narrow. Consider opting for a diesel model for better fuel efficiency on longer trips. Don't forget to check if the rental includes sat-nav, as it can be invaluable for navigating both the city and countryside. Lastly, ensure all drivers are comfortable with manual transmission, as automatic vehicles are less common in the UK.
When renting a minivan in Edinburgh, guests often prefer pickup locations near Edinburgh Airport or the city centre for convenience. Some popular areas include Waverley Station, Haymarket, and Leith. When choosing a pickup location, guests should consider proximity to their accommodation and planned routes. It's essential to check the vehicle's features, such as seating capacity and luggage space, to ensure it meets their needs. Guests should also familiarise themselves with Edinburgh's parking regulations and potential congestion areas. Booking a minivan rental on Turo allows guests to find diverse options from trusted local hosts, often with flexible pickup arrangements. Remember to communicate clearly with the host on Turo regarding pickup details and any specific requirements for your Edinburgh adventure.
Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands offer breathtaking scenic routes perfect for a minivan adventure. The North Coast 500 is a stunning circular route starting from Inverness, showcasing rugged coastlines and majestic mountains. For a closer journey, the Fife Coastal Route provides spectacular views of the North Sea and charming fishing villages. The famous Glencoe Valley, with its dramatic landscapes, is a must-visit. Remember to pack essentials for your hired minivan, including snacks and warm clothing, as Scottish weather can be unpredictable. Edinburgh's proximity to these routes makes it an ideal starting point for your Highland exploration.
Edinburgh boasts numerous family-friendly attractions easily accessible by minivan. The spacious Edinburgh Zoo, home to the famous pandas, offers ample parking for your vehicle. Dynamic Earth, an interactive science centre, provides engaging exhibits for all ages. For outdoor enthusiasts, Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park offers a family-friendly hike with panoramic city views. The National Museum of Scotland, with its diverse collections, is another excellent stop. Having a hired minivan allows you to comfortably transport the whole family, along with any necessary gear or picnic supplies. Remember to plan your route in advance, as Edinburgh's city centre can be busy, especially during peak tourist seasons.
For long drives through Scotland in your minivan, consider a mix of entertainment options to keep everyone engaged. Audiobooks or podcasts about Scottish history and folklore can enrich your journey. Create a playlist featuring Scottish artists or traditional music to set the mood. Portable DVD players or tablets loaded with films set in Scotland, like "Brave" or "Local Hero", can entertain younger passengers. Traditional car games with a Scottish twist, such as "I Spy" using Gaelic words, can be fun and educational. Don't forget to pack some Scottish snacks and a thermos of hot tea for authentic flavour. Remember, the stunning Scottish landscapes outside your minivan windows are often entertainment enough!
When exploring Edinburgh and beyond, comfort and reliability are key for your minivan adventure. The Ford Galaxy is a popular choice, offering ample space and smooth handling on Scottish roads. The Volkswagen Sharan provides excellent fuel efficiency for longer journeys into the Highlands. For larger groups, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class combines luxury with practicality. The Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer is known for its comfortable ride and innovative features. These models are well-suited for navigating both Edinburgh's city streets and rural Scottish roads. Remember to choose a hired minivan with sufficient boot space for luggage and any souvenirs you might pick up along your Scottish adventure.
When packing for your minivan trip to Edinburgh's historic sites and natural wonders, versatility is key. Include layers like waterproof jackets and warm jumpers, as Scottish weather can be changeable. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring Edinburgh's cobblestone streets and hiking in nearby natural areas. Pack a picnic blanket and reusable water bottles for impromptu stops at scenic spots. Don't forget to bring a camera to capture Edinburgh's stunning architecture and landscapes. A good map or updated GPS system is crucial for navigating both the city and countryside. Lastly, consider bringing binoculars for wildlife spotting and a small first-aid kit for peace of mind during your adventures.
Ensuring child safety in your minivan during your Edinburgh family holiday is paramount. Always use appropriate child seats or boosters based on age and size, securing them properly in the vehicle. Familiarise yourself with the minivan's safety features, including child locks on doors and windows. Pack a basic first-aid kit for minor emergencies. When parking at attractions like Edinburgh Castle or the Royal Botanic Garden, choose well-lit areas and never leave valuables visible. For longer drives to places like Loch Lomond, plan regular breaks to prevent fatigue. Remember to brief children on basic road safety rules, especially when exiting the vehicle in busy areas. Your minivan adventure should be both fun and safe for the whole family.
Edinburgh's surroundings offer numerous minivan-friendly destinations perfect for group sightseeing. The charming town of St Andrews, with its historic university and golf courses, provides ample parking for minivans. The Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by "The Da Vinci Code", is easily accessible and offers designated coach parking suitable for minivans. The picturesque village of South Queensferry, offering views of the iconic Forth Bridge, is another excellent stop with suitable parking facilities. These destinations allow groups to comfortably explore Scotland's rich history and natural beauty from the convenience of their hired minivan.
Driving a minivan in Edinburgh, particularly in the city centre, requires extra attention compared to smaller vehicles. The narrow, winding streets of the Old Town can be challenging, so it's crucial to be aware of your vehicle's dimensions. Pay close attention to height restrictions in car parks, especially in the New Town area. The city's numerous one-way systems and bus lanes require careful navigation. When parking, look for larger spaces often found in dedicated car parks rather than on-street parking. Be mindful of cyclists and pedestrians, who are numerous in Edinburgh's busy centre. Despite these considerations, a minivan rental offers the advantage of comfortable group travel and easy access to Edinburgh's many attractions.
