Start your car sharing business on Turo

All trips on Turo are automatically covered by third-party auto liability insurance.** You get unlimited coverage for bodily injury or death to others, while coverage for motor third-party property damage is limited to £20,000,000.

**Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance UK Ltd offers third-party liability insurance via Turo broker Aon UK Ltd. Both Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance and Aon are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

You're protected if something doesn’t go to plan and your car gets damaged. You can choose between two protection plans — both include reimbursement from Turo for eligible physical damage costs in excess of your plan’s deductible for the Reservation Period*** only.

Protection plans are not insurance but an agreement between you and Turo about how to allocate financial responsibility, and the protection plan your guest chooses is entirely separate from yours.

The protection plan available through Turo is separate from your personal insurance. You still need car insurance, so your car is insured for non-Turo trips all year round.

***The Reservation Period is the period shown for a booked trip. It begins at the trip start time listed in the reservation and when the vehicle is in the custody or control of the guest. It ends the earlier of the trip end time or when the vehicle is returned to the host or the location designated in the reservation.

Before you hand over the keys to your guest, the Turo app will prompt you to take multiple photos of the exterior and interior of the car to document its condition and enter the mileage and fuel levels. You can read a breakdown of the check-in process.

At the agreed time, hand over your keys to the primary driver. You’ll also be asked to check the guest’s driving license against the information provided in the app unless it’s a Turo Go trip. If the primary guest is not in attendance at check-in or doesn’t have their driving license on them, do not hand over the keys. Contact support if you have any cause for hesitation.

At the end of their trip, your guest will return the vehicle to the pre-arranged location at the agreed time. The app will guide you through the check-out process.

After you check out at the end of a trip, your app will walk you through the steps to file a claim, request reimbursements for a parking ticket, toll or missing fuel or charge, or request information for a speeding ticket. If you are notified of damage during a trip, you and your guest can report damage through the app while the trip is in progress.
