This was a very good first experience and I will use the app again. I highly recommend Ceylian's car. It's handsome, clean, tight and efficient - also well located near the airport (just a 17 minute sidewalk stroll from the plane), and turns on a dime. It's been many years since I've driven a car with such a short turning-radius. It was perfect for tiny village streets! Highly recommended. 1 caveat: Street parking near the airport can be a bear, so give yourself plenty of time on the return. Thanks, Ceylian.

Getting to Toulouse—By Car or By Plane

Planning a trip to Toulouse—the "Pink City"? Excellent idea! However, depending on your departure point, you have several options available to you—**depending on the budget** you’re willing to set aside and **the amount of time you’re willing to spend on the road.** After all, the Haute-Garonne region isn't exactly right in the center of the French map! So, if you’re coming from Marseille, the drive will take you less than four hours; but if you’re coming from Lille... it’s nearly nine hours. From Paris, the trip takes about six and a half hours. Now, it’s up to you to **make your choice based on the budget you have available.** The most affordable option, naturally, is to rent a car through Turo—picking it up right on your doorstep—and hit the road. The vehicles available on Turo are offered at **prices that simply can't be beaten** (often cheaper than traditional rental agencies like Avis, Goldcar, Europcar, Rent a Car, Sixt, Ada, or Hertz). This holds true regardless of the type of vehicle you’re looking for—whether it’s a standard passenger car, a convertible, a utility vehicle... or even an automatic or manual transmission, a 3-door or 5-door model, or a Renault, Peugeot, or Volkswagen. However, if that sounds like too long a journey—or simply too much driving—you might prefer to fly instead. Toulouse-Blagnac Airport—as the name suggests—is located in Blagnac, just outside Toulouse. And when we say "just outside," we really mean it: you’ll be less than 20 minutes away from the city center. And yes—that includes the time it takes to get there with your rental car. The longest part of the process would actually be waiting in line to rent a vehicle from a traditional agency upon your arrival at the airport! But with Turo, all you have to do is book your car in advance; your host can then be waiting for you right at the airport with their vehicle—**the moment you step off the plane.** Now *that’s* what we call service! And you will be immediately mobile, able to head into Toulouse city center without wasting any more time.

What to do in Toulouse?

Toulouse—the "Pink City" (so named for the color of its terracotta brick, the primary building material used throughout the city)—is a major tourist destination in France. The capital of the Occitanie region has so much to offer! This applies to both its heritage and its unique way of life. First, the heritage: highlights you simply cannot miss include the Couvent des Jacobins—an exceptional example of Southern Gothic architecture—the Basilica of Saint-Sernin (quite simply the largest Romanesque church in France), and the Cathédrale Saint-Étienne, whose architecture spans several centuries.
An aviation enthusiast? After leaving Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, head to the Airbus site or the Aeroscopia Museum in Blagnac to step aboard the legendary Concorde. And if you’d like to reach even greater heights, make your way to the Cité de l’Espace! As for the local way of life: take a stroll across the magnificent Place du Capitole, then sit back on a terrace alongside other patrons to sample the local specialties. While these dishes may not be exactly "light" or strictly "vegetarian"... they are absolutely delicious! Think heavenly cured ham, the magnificent Toulouse sausage, foie gras that is the envy of the world, *Fenetra* (a cake made with almonds and candied lemon), and violet-flavored treats—whether as candies, sugar-coated almonds, or chocolates—all topped off with a little *Cachou de Lajaunie* mint to finish!
However, just because Toulouse is wonderful doesn't mean you should limit yourself to the city alone. Toulouse-Blagnac Airport also serves as a gateway to the Pyrenees—an ideal destination for summer mountain hiking and winter snow sports at places like Font-Romeu or Cauterets—or for visiting the Cité de Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage site located just under an hour's drive away.

Rent a Car from Private Owners

Whether you need a vehicle right from your starting point or directly at the airport, consider renting through Turo! The platform provides access to thousands of privately owned cars across France. It is far simpler and more affordable than renting from traditional agencies (such as Avis, Rent A Car, Goldcar, Europcar, Sixt, Ada, or Hertz). You can select the exact vehicle you want—regardless of type (city cars, utility vehicles, vintage cars, convertibles, minibuses... you’ll find whatever you’re looking for!)—and the pickup process couldn't be easier: you can collect the vehicle wherever you like (no need to hunt down an agency or wait in line behind dozens of other customers; you simply coordinate with the host) and whenever you like (no restrictions based on agency closing hours). You can pick up or drop off the vehicle at any time, provided the host agrees. Booking takes just a few clicks. All you have to do is...
