Great experience renting this car was clean, reliable, and ready on time. Very professional, friendly, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Pricing was fair with no surprises. I would definitely rent again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a dependable car rental.

Incredible host, extremely thorough and helpful. Car drove fantastic the whole ride , and the car was extremely clean. Trini checked in on us to see if we needed anything during our trip which was awesome. Incredible customer service . The host takes care of both their guest and cars very well. 10/10 will rent from them again. Thank you so much Trini.
This was my first time using this service. All the car rental companies were sold out. A friend recommended Turo. The ease of everything, from communication, picking up and dropping off were so much better than the rental companies. The car was great. I have to fly into the area often. I will ask for this car again.

Car quality was great. A/C worked great. No engine lights or car trouble. Slight glitch with the audio volume, but the rest of it was great. Fun little zippy car to have at the beach. Pickup and return at Orlando Sanford International Airport is simple and well-signed. After you exit baggage claim, bypass the lines at the rental car center and follow signs to the Hourly Lot — this is the only permitted area for Turo pickups and drop-offs. Check the Turo app for your vehicle’s exact parking location and use the ticket left in the car to exit the lot.
Once your booking is secured, everything you need can be found within the Turo app. Your host will share key trip details there, including where to find your car, how to return it, and any additional details you need to know. You can also use in-app messaging to ask questions and clarify any information — no need to navigate separate emails or calls.
SFB is one of several airport locations where Turo has a delivery agreement in place. As such, the airport requires Turo to collect and remit a fee for vehicle deliveries. But Turo doesn't set this fee, mark it up or retain any portion of it. If your host needs you to cover any entry or exit parking costs, this will be outlined in their vehicle listing.

Contactless check-in and checkout
Many hosts offer contactless check-in and checkout, if their car has remote access technology, allowing you to find the car, unlock it, and be on your way without meeting them in person. Message your host for specific instructions.

Convenient airport car rental pickup and return
Rather than hustling at the busy terminal curbside, take your time picking up the rental car at approved parking lots or garages. Check in, load up your luggage, and get comfortable with the car without a big rush.

Relax with support & damage protection
24/7 support and roadside assistance mean help is just a call away, plus you can choose from a range of protection plans.

Tucked between historic charm and lush Florida landscapes, Sanford rewards curious drivers with art galleries, quirky antique shops, and outdoor gems. From the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens to the Public History Museum and downtown’s weekend street festivals, there’s plenty to explore.
Rent the perfect car
Hop in your car and cruise to the Sanford Riverwalk, a picturesque lakeside path perfect for sunsets, cycling, and wildlife watching. Park nearby and stroll the palm-lined promenade, then grab craft beer and tacos at Henry’s Depot, a historic train station turned food hall.
Pack up your picnic basket, load up your paddleboards, and drive out to Lake Monroe for a day of fresh air and calm waters. Launch from the marina or follow the scenic byway that hugs the shoreline for panoramic views. The best spots are only a few turns off the highway.
Colorful murals, microbreweries, and retro record stores make Downtown Sanford a must-visit. A rental car gives you the freedom to hop from Celery City Craft to Wondermade’s marshmallow tasting room — all in one afternoon. Bonus: There's plenty of free parking along 1st Street.
Exploring Sanford by car opens the door to vibrant downtown streets, lakeside lookouts, and scenic drives that public transit just can’t reach. With flexible trip lengths, wide-ranging car rental deals, and easy in-app management, customers found rental cars through Turo that perfectly match their travel plans. Here’s what to know before you collect the keys.
Once you exit baggage claim, follow the signs to the Hourly Lot where your host will have the car ready. After confirming trip details in the Turo app, simply locate your car, grab the parking ticket your host left, and drive out. It's a straightforward process that skips the usual car rental companies counters entirely.
At the end of your trip, return your rental car to the Hourly Lot at Orlando Sanford and park in any open, approved space. Leave the parking ticket in the vehicle and message your host via the Turo app to confirm exactly where you've returned the vehicle (including the stall number).
Orlando Sanford is just five miles from downtown Sanford — a smooth 10 to 15-minute drive. With your rental ready to go, you’ll skip airport shuttles and crowds and head straight to local favorites like the Sanford Museum, Fort Mellon Park, and the craft breweries lining 1st Street.
Driving in Sanford is generally relaxed, though traffic can slow during school drop-off times and weekend events in Downtown. State Road 46 and U.S. Route 17-92 are among the busiest roads in the area, especially where they converge near shopping centers and dining strips. Florida follows standard U.S. traffic laws, but speed limits can vary sharply between zones.
The posted speed limit in residential areas is typically 30 mph, while arterial roads and highways like I-4 can climb to 55–70 mph. Keep an eye out for school zones and construction areas, where reduced speeds are strictly enforced. During Florida’s wet season (June to September), roads can flood quickly — something to consider if you're behind the wheel of a low-clearance sedan versus a sturdy SUV or pickup truck.
Parking in Sanford is refreshingly manageable. You’ll find street parking along 1st Street and near the Sanford RiverWalk, along with several public lots like the Marina Parking Lot and the 2nd Street Parking Garage. During festivals and weekend markets, spots fill up quickly, so arrive early or scope out alternatives a few blocks away.
Yes. Sanford drivers should be aware of toll roads like SR 417 and SR 528, which provide efficient routes around Orlando and into nearby cities like Kissimmee and Daytona Beach.
You’ll find gas stations scattered throughout the city, including major chains like Shell and 7-Eleven on East 25th Street, West First Street, and along South French Avenue. They're conveniently placed whether you're heading downtown or returning to the airport.
For EV drivers, Sanford offers multiple EV charging points. The city’s public library on Palmetto Avenue has Level 2 chargers, as do select hotels and commercial centers near Towne Center Boulevard. Sanford’s growing EV infrastructure makes it an excellent match if you're opting for an electric vehicle during your stay.
Sanford’s limited public transport makes having your own vehicle essential. A rental car allows you to discover destinations like Blue Spring State Park, Wekiwa Springs, and the Central Florida Zoo. With Turo, you’ll find the perfect car to explore all that Seminole County and greater Orlando have to offer — at your pace and on your schedule.
From sunny shoreline drives to conference stops in Orlando, Turo makes it easy to book the right car for your itinerary. Whether you’re after flexibility, flair, or family-sized comfort, there’s a rental car type waiting that fits the Florida road ahead.
- SUV rental: Perfect for theme park runs or beach trips, standard SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 and Ford Escape offer cargo space, comfort, and a higher vantage point for long drives down I-4.
- Luxury car rental: Explore Sanford’s historic streets or make a splash arriving in Orlando in a refined model like a Tesla Model S or an electric luxury SUV, combining elegance with eco-conscious efficiency.
- Performance sport car rental: Looking to level up your weekend getaway? Models like the Ford Mustang or Dodge Charger deliver fun, power, and a distinctly Florida sense of freedom.
- Sedan rental: Smooth-handling picks like the Hyundai Sonata or Kia K5 are ideal for navigating urban areas or heading inland toward Ocala, with quiet cabins and fuel efficiency in mind.
- Limo van rental: For larger groups or family travel, a limo van provides space without the need to split rides — great for airport pickups, Disney trips, or extended excursions.
The cost of car rental in Sanford can vary depending on car type, booking length, extras, and delivery. For cheap car rentals in Sanford, look out for discounts on longer-duration bookings and early bookings.
