Took the car for a trip to highlands. Car was exceptionally clean, great communication, host even had a gift basket. Everything was going great.
However, on the way back, the car had a flat tyre.
As mentioned in the roadside assistance report, this tyre turned out to be 10 years old (car is 8 years old), cracked and in bad shape. Infact, The car had 3 different brands of tyres on. Even after communicating all this with the host, he insisted that I'd have to bear this expense out of pocket ( not cheap these tyres). All this took several hours to sort out. I was later refunded by turo but overall it ruined my experience and my trip.
So car and host are absolutely perfect until something goes wrong. Things going wrong is okay, is normal, but the fairness and support you get makes the difference. Make sure you take lots of pictures during check in and check out.
I'm thankful to Turo for its policies and it's efficient handling.

I purchased the car 8 months ago and unfortunately the age of this one tyre was an oversight.
Pre-trip photos showed the tyre was in good condition, as also noted by Turo Support. The tyre was driven while flat, causing further damage and distortion.
Different tyre brands are normal as tyres are replaced at different times due to wear or damage.
With 220+ trips and a 5-star rating, I take maintenance seriously. This was an isolated mistake, the tyre was replaced and all others checked.
Wish we could give 10 stars!

The car is awesome we loved the ease of collection, the smooth drive and most of all getting the roof off!
