Amazing little car with great MPG! It was super easy to drive, had ice-cold AC, and came equipped with all the essentials like a phone holder, both USB-C and USB-A charging ports, and Bluetooth. Antonella was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and answered all my questions right away. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. Thanks again, Antonella!

I was very satisfied. The car was delivered to my home exactly on time. Both the pickup and return were easy and quick. The host was very helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to rent a car
I hired a this car for two days from Preston and drove about 200 miles towards the south of the country using the M1 and M6 motorways. The car was reliable, well maintained, and very clean both inside and out. It also seemed quite economical on fuel, which was a nice bonus for a longer trip. Everything went smoothly and the car performed well throughout the journey. The only thing I noticed was that it didn’t have a USB or USB-C port for charging a phone, and I’m not sure whether it is ULEZ compliant. Other than that, it was a very straightforward and pleasant rental experience.

Great trip to the Lake District, perfect car for two of us on the small twisty roads visiting numerous small villages and towns. Easy pick up & drop off, good communications, everything went very well, definitely use again 👍👍

Car is perfect for trip in the lakes. Compact and suitable for narrow roads. Clean and well maintained also economic. Ify was very great and accomodating.

Car was really nice to drive and it’s such a cute colour, compact enough for leisurely city driving and tight parking spaces. Leyland offers a gateway to picturesque Lancashire countryside drives. The scenic route through the Ribble Valley showcases rolling hills and charming villages. Another delightful option is the drive towards the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For coastal views, head west towards Lytham St Annes. These routes offer varied landscapes, from lush green fields to dramatic moorlands. Remember to bring a map or use a reliable navigation system, as rural roads can be winding. Always check local weather forecasts before setting off, as conditions can change quickly in the countryside. These journeys allow you to fully appreciate the beauty of Lancashire from the comfort of your car hire.
Navigating Preston's peak hour traffic requires some strategic planning. Consider using the city's park and ride facilities to avoid city centre congestion. If driving is necessary, plan your route to utilise the Preston Western Distributor road, which helps alleviate traffic on busier roads. Timing is crucial; if possible, try to avoid the rush hours between 7:30-9:30 AM and 4:30-6:30 PM. Local radio stations provide regular traffic updates, helping you stay informed about any incidents or delays. Remember, patience is key during busy periods. If you're unfamiliar with Preston's layout, a reliable GPS can be invaluable for finding alternative routes when main roads are congested. Always allow extra time for your journey during peak hours to ensure a stress-free drive.
For comfortable journeys through Lancashire's diverse landscapes, consider a versatile vehicle that can handle various terrains. A mid-size car offers a good balance of comfort and fuel efficiency for most trips. If you're planning to explore rural areas, an SUV might be more suitable, providing better visibility and handling on country roads. For longer journeys or family trips, a spacious estate car could be ideal, offering ample room for passengers and luggage. If you're sticking to urban areas and main roads, a compact car would suffice, making parking easier in towns like Leyland. Whatever your choice, ensure the vehicle has good fuel economy for those longer countryside drives. Remember, the right car rental can enhance your Lancashire adventure, making every journey more enjoyable.
Leyland and its surrounding areas offer several reliable options for refuelling your vehicle. The town centre has a few well-known petrol stations, including ones on Towngate and Schleswig Way. For those venturing out of Leyland, you'll find petrol stations along major routes like the A6 and M6. It's advisable to plan your refuelling stops, especially when exploring rural Lancashire. Many larger supermarkets in the area also have fuel stations, often at competitive prices. When embarking on longer trips, it's wise to keep your tank at least a quarter full. Remember, petrol stations might be less frequent in more remote areas of Lancashire, so plan accordingly. Always check your fuel levels before setting off on any journey to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted drive through this beautiful region.
Driving safely on Lancashire's rural roads requires heightened awareness and caution. Always adhere to speed limits, which can change frequently on country roads. Be prepared for narrow lanes and blind bends by reducing your speed and staying alert. Watch out for wildlife, farm vehicles, and cyclists, especially during dawn and dusk. Use your headlights in poor visibility conditions, which can occur suddenly in rural areas. When passing horses or livestock, slow down and give them plenty of space. Be mindful of changing road surfaces, particularly in wet weather. If you need to stop, find a safe place off the road, avoiding soft verges. Remember, rural roads may lack street lighting, so extra caution is needed at night. By following these practices, you can enjoy the beautiful Lancashire countryside while ensuring a safe journey.
When driving from Leyland to nearby cities in Lancashire, you'll be pleased to know that there are no toll roads to worry about. The majority of roads in the area, including major motorways like the M6 and M61, are free to use. This makes exploring the region by car hire both convenient and cost-effective. However, it's worth noting that if you plan to venture further afield, such as towards Liverpool, you might encounter the Mersey Gateway Bridge, which does charge a toll. Always check your planned route before setting off, especially if you're heading to areas outside of Lancashire. Remember, while there may not be toll roads, parking charges in city centres can vary, so it's wise to research parking options in advance for a smooth and budget-friendly trip.
When visiting Leyland town centre, it's essential to be aware of the parking situation. The town offers a mix of on-street and off-street parking options. Many streets have time-limited free parking, but always check signage carefully to avoid fines. The main car parks in the centre, such as those near the market or civic centre, often provide longer-term parking options. Some car parks operate a pay-and-display system, so keep change handy. During busy periods, like market days, parking can be more challenging, so arrive early if possible. Be mindful of resident-only parking zones in residential areas near the centre. If you're staying for an extended period, consider using one of the long-stay car parks on the outskirts of the town centre. Always lock your vehicle and avoid leaving valuables visible to ensure a worry-free visit to Leyland.
Preparing for Lancashire's varied weather conditions is crucial for a safe and enjoyable driving experience. Always check the local weather forecast before setting out. In rainy conditions, which are common in Lancashire, ensure your windscreen wipers are in good condition and reduce your speed to improve traction. For foggy weather, use fog lights correctly and increase your following distance. During the colder months, be prepared for potential ice or snow, especially on rural roads. Consider keeping a warm blanket and some snacks in your car for unexpected delays. In summer, sunglasses can be helpful for glare. Regardless of the season, it's wise to have a fully charged mobile phone for emergencies. By being prepared for all weather scenarios, you can confidently explore Lancashire's beautiful landscapes in any condition.
