Great communication and overall good experience

I was extremely disappointed with the condition of the vehicle when I collected it. It had numerous dents and scratches, ripped tyres with damage to the sidewalls, the engine warning light was illuminated, and there was also an engine oil warning. On top of that, the car was extremely dirty both inside and out. This was far below the standard I expected when hiring a vehicle, especially as these are basic safety and maintenance checks that should have been completed before the car was made available.

Considering the amount I paid to hire the vehicle, the condition it was in was completely unacceptable. I expected a clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy car, but unfortunately, that was not what I received.

To make matters worse, I was asked to clean the car before returning it. I explained that I would be returning the vehicle in the same condition I received it. In fact, I had to clean the car myself before using it because I was attending a wedding and could not arrive in such a dirty vehicle.

I have used Turo on many occasions and have always had positive experiences, but this has been by far the worst experience I have had. The owners were polite and pleasant to deal with, but they really need to step up when it comes to preparing and maintaining their vehicles. Customers should not have to clean a car upon collection or deal with maintenance issues during their rental. Vehicles should be clean, safe, roadworthy, and thoroughly inspected before being listed for hire. If a vehicle is not in a suitable condition, it simply should not be made available to customers.
