This was our first time renting through Turo. Dave dropped off the car on time to airport. We were surprised to find that the back hatch was not working correctly. It appeared the car had been dented from behind and the back was misaligned. We didn’t think we were going to be able to close I contacted Dave and he said to close it slowly and that he had been renting it like this the entire time. We struggled with using this part of the car. Also the car had sand inside/ didn’t look newly cleaned. I also talked to Dave about this and he said that it was fine for us to leave it in with similar cleanliness. Once we started to drive an alert came onto the dash telling us that maintenance was needed so I contacted Dave again and asked him why the alert was there. He said that the car had the maintenance but they forgot to turn off the light. With these two issues and because the hatch in the back didn’t close we could hear a lot of road noise it was a challenging time. It was too late to find another car. I assumed that a car that we rented would be in good working condition. On a better note, the car was comfortable and easy to drive and it was really nice to have the chairs and umbrellas that Dave provided. Dave communicated well. I was surprised that Turi didn’t ask for pictures before we started driving the car and only asked for them after. Hopefully Dave took the before pictures because there was some damage to other parts of the car like the front right bumper. It was really nice to pick up and drop it off at the airport and not wait in the car rental line. So this is a mixed review
