Empire Monarchs Women's Rugby Club participated for the first time in the Alaska Midnight Sun 7s Tournament. The cargo van rental made it extremely convenient for entire team to commute during our Alaska stay. Rob communicates promptly and is kind. We had no issue booking, picking up, operating it, and returning it. We enjoyed our rental.
Van was perfect for our trip to Anchorage. Price was very fair! Easy pick up and drop off. I would recommend!!
Even though there was a minor issue with my original rental, their customer service was outstanding. They resolved everything immediately and upgraded me to a better vehicle for the same price. They turned a potential inconvenience into a great experience. I’d absolutely rent here again and highly recommend them!

Everything went well and this was the right vehicle for our family of 6, all of our gear, and a great price!

The van was perfect for what we needed it for, a grocery trip to Anchorage. Great fuel economy! Easy to load from the side or back. Nice and open inside with a rug, spot light/flashlight, broom, and fire extinguisher. Nathan the host was very responsive. Gave me peace of mind when picking up and returning the van. Be aware that if you choose the airport pick up the host parks it at a valet parking lot and not the short term/long term parking lot closest to the terminal. You have to take a shuttle a short distance down the road which was not an issue just something I had not planned for was wall.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The van was great—clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Communication was clear and prompt throughout the entire process, and pickup and drop-off were incredibly easy. Matt was a fantastic host and made everything seamless. Would definitely rent from him again!

Renting this van was an absolute no-brainer! We didn’t need something this big but thought the views would be better for the passengers. Everyone had plenty of room, very comfortable and great views. The van was very easy to drive and gets fuel economy that’s similar to a minivan. We got just under 20 miles per gallon. Brian is an incredible host who was very helpful with travel advice and suggestions. Awesome trip!

The van is very clean and well kept. We used it for a family vacation of 8. Plenty of room for kids and luggage. Great and fast communication with owner.

Van was great. Parked right at the airport Then being able to do a one way for a cruise was the best part. Would highly recommend.

The vehicle was clean and brought right to the arrival doors. Upon drop off we had a large amount of baggage. The vehicle was picked up right after we finished unloading the van. We would rent this vehicle again.

First time using Turo. If I was staying in just the Anchorage metro area only, again, I think I would rent this vehicle again. The couch bed Was comfortable. I didn't use any of the cookware or propane stove. I left some unopened Kirkland signature water bottles in there cause I didn't want to take the with me. There was a slight inconvenience with the freezer and the batteries or something electrical underneath the closet. I did have to open the bottom of the wooden clothes drawer in the closet to flip the switch on whatever electrical thing that was so it would stop making that whiny beeping electronic noise. Kiril said it may be that the batteries needed a charge. I did leave a water bottle in the freezer in the right rear of the van so that there would be no rancid snelling of it cause it needs ventilation. There was a rumbling noise from the van the 1st day or two when I got it up to 30 to 35mph. On the final day aka return day, I didn't notice it however. One of the bedsheets I took out of the closet was kinda damp and when I laid it out on the couch, it got me a little damp. Overall, I would use this vehicle again if I were just sticking to the Anchorage area.

Was a great van for our trip full of memories around Alaska. Host was great which made our first time using Turo amazing! She was able to take seats out to make this van have the ability for more comfort and to bring a handicap walker with us. Thanks for the great trip!
The van we rented really met our needs and worked very well. I would definitely rent again. Thanks!

Brian took the time to walk us through the ins and outs of his van, which was very helpful. The van was nice and worked really well for our large group. There was ample storage and a very helpful backup camera. If we ever visit Alaska again, then we would definitely rent from Brian

Joel is amazing. Met us at the airport to drop off van at arrivals. Van was clean and great to get our group around anchorage the couple days before our cruise. Will definitely rent from him again.
Van was totally as advertised. Nelson was very easy to work with and pick/drop off were very easy.

With access points only about a 15- to 20-minute drive from the city, Chugach State Park is worth a trip, especially when you do it comfortably — and with adequate room — in your Turo van. Snow and ice melt on the lower-elevation trails, so you can safely walk and hike without slipping. Plus, you may take out a canoe or other non-motorized watercraft and observe nearby glaciers from certain spots.

Consider scheduling your pickup for an Anchorage Park & Ride. These designated parking areas provide plenty of space and are easy to access for both you and the van's owner. Downtown is also home to several attractions you can visit once you have the keys to your vehicle.
After you're ready to drive in Anchorage, AK, you need to know where to charge or refuel your vehicle and any specifics about driving a van. It's also helpful to know how to select the right one for your needs so you take in all that the city has to offer while minimizing potential issues.
If you haven't driven a van at all — or only rarely have — it takes some getting used to and understanding how the vehicle's width and height affect driving. For one, pay extra attention when you reach low-hanging branches, enter a parking garage, or go through an underpass because your vehicle might not be able to go under safely. The van's length means you need to take turns wider than you would in a car. A van is heavier than a car, especially when loading it with your belongings. Adjust your braking distance based on how full your vehicle is.
You need more room to maneuver with a vehicle that's taller, longer, and wider. If you're parking in a tight space or parallel parking, leave more room all around the vehicle. Especially if you're in a parking lot, take turns slowly to prevent an accident. There is plenty of parking on the streets of Anchorage. Paid meters typically charge around $1.25 per hour. Downtown also has parking garages and other lots, some of which are free. Be sure to look for signs that let you know of any costs so you can park legally.
Selecting a van for your needs requires considering why you're opting for a van. Do you need it because you're traveling with multiple people, hauling cargo, or moving? You can find passenger vans, cargo vans, and moving vans that'll accommodate you. You should also consider the size, the number of seats, and whether you can remove or collapse any seating.
As you're loading a cargo van, place the heavier items on the bottom and lighter ones on the top. Not only will you protect your breakables this way, but this strategy helps you maintain stability when you're driving as well. Use nets, bungees, and straps to secure the items so they don't shift and break during transit. Place any items you may need during your journey close to the front or near a door so you can easily access them along the way.
If you choose an electric van, you'll find the city has over 100 public stations to charge up when you're running low. You can even find 36 DC Fast Chargers so you can power up and be on your way more quickly. Some locations of charging stations include the following:
- Dimond Center - 800 East Dimond Blvd.
- MOA Rustic Goat - 2716 W. Northern Lights Blvd.
- South Anchorage Mall - 1200 W. Northern Lights Blvd.
You'll find chain gas stations like the Chevron Denali Express, Holiday, and Carrs Fuel Station. And you'll find privately owned ones, such as Crowley Fuels Anchorage. No matter which you choose, be sure to know what type of fuel your van uses. As a heads-up, some larger vans require diesel.
