Jianlou (Louis) was awesome!!! He met us at the cruise ship terminal with the vehicle and then met us at the departure drop off area of the airport to pick the vehicle up from us! Infinitely better than any rental car experience I have ever had before!!!! The vehicle was clean, well maintained, drove very well and provided us with all the room we needed. I highly recommend Louis and his van.

Frequently asked questions in Vancouver

Which van size works best for Vancouver adventures?

Cargo vans offer excellent storage for outdoor gear when exploring Grouse Mountain or Capilano Suspension Bridge in British Columbia. Passenger vans work better for larger groups visiting Granville Island or Stanley Park, providing comfortable seating for everyone. Consider your specific needs — whether prioritizing cargo space for equipment or passenger comfort for Vancouver sightseeing.

What should first-time van drivers expect in British Columbia?

Van hire in Vancouver require adjusting to increased height and width compared to regular vehicles, especially in downtown parking areas. The steering feels different initially, but most drivers adapt quickly to manoeuvring around Richmond or near Vancouver International Airport. Practice turning wider corners and checking blind spots more frequently when driving through Western Canada.

How do you park a van in Vancouver's downtown core?

Downtown Vancouver offers designated van parking areas, though spaces fill quickly during peak tourist seasons. Look for street parking with adequate clearance height, particularly when visiting Gastown or other central attractions. Many parking structures accommodate vans, but always verify height restrictions before entering any covered facility.

Are cargo vans better for families or larger groups?

Cargo vans excel for families with extensive luggage or sports equipment heading to Whistler or Vancouver Island adventures. Passenger van rental options suit larger groups prioritizing comfort over storage space during British Columbia exploration. Consider your group size and gear requirements — cargo vans maximize storage while passenger vans optimize seating comfort for extended journeys.

What comfort tips help during long van journeys from Vancouver?

Adjust seats properly before departing Vancouver for destinations like Calgary or Edmonton to maintain good posture throughout your trip. Plan regular stops every few hours to stretch and rest, particularly important when travelling across Western Canada's vast distances. Pack snacks and water within easy reach, and ensure adequate ventilation for passenger comfort during extended van rental periods.

Which safety features matter most in rental vans?

Modern hired vans include backup cameras essential for navigating Vancouver's busy areas like Richmond or near the Vancouver Aquarium. Anti-lock braking systems provide crucial control on British Columbia's varied terrain and weather conditions. Look for vans equipped with stability control and multiple airbags to ensure passenger safety during your Vancouver adventures.
