Car was great…host was great….easy pick up and drop off…I highly recommend if you’re looking for a great rent a car

The car was okay overall. It was clean, well presented and had a full tank of fuel when collected. The rental process was straightforward, and the vehicle was suitable for my needs during my stay in New York. Overall, a decent rental experience.
The rental process was incredibly smooth and hassle-free. The car drove very smoothly.

I had a really smooth and enjoyable rental with this host. The car was in great condition and absolutely worth the price. The host was very accommodating — I needed to extend my trip on short notice, and they approved the extra day right away without any hassle. Their communication was quick, the pickup was easy, and the overall experience was excellent. I would definitely rent from them again.

Second time renting car from them. As always super responsive and everything went great. Definitely recommend them for rental cars in Jersey City.

Tiff’s Trips has been my go to person to get a car. She is very accommodating and for this trip I added on an extra day and she easily switched around cars so I could get one sooner. Can’t say enough about the quality of the vehicles and how clean they are. Never had any issues with maintenance. Pick up and drop off couldn’t be easier.
The rear tires were low on air pressure and had to refill, which took more time than anticipated (about an hour extra because we had problem finding working air pumps). Tiff the Host was very apologetic and offered to refund cost / discount. I appreciate that and understand it's difficult to control for all aspects of quality, hope other renters won't have to go through the issue. Other than that the rental experience was great, car was clean, runs well, instructions clear, pick up and return was smooth, I would rent from them again if the need come.
Smooth ride. Solid price. The owner is a great dude, very helpful and goes above

The host was very nice and trip was amazing car was clean and smell great I amazing will rent again soon

I had a great experience renting Alexis’ Honda! Alexis was very responsive, and the car was easy to find and very clean. It was perfect for our quick trip, and everything went smoothly. I’d definitely rent from Alexis again!

Picked the car up for a day trip to the shore - pick up was seamless, car was in great condition and clearly cleaned prior to our reservation. Would rent from Bayram again
This was my Second Trip, the host are Amazing & I had an Fantastic Experience like the First Trip. Will rent Again & if I could Give 10 Stars, Absolutely best host on Turo

Amazing car and rental experience. Peter was super helpful and quick to reply at all times. I’d definitely rent again.
Ivan and car rental team were detailed and friendly to work with. A clean and smooth ride for the errands I needed to run for a few days.

Overall, excellent. Integra Type-S is a very fun, engaging, manual transmission experience. Car is perfect for long road trips and for hauling a lot of stuff. Small delay with pickup/drop-off otherwise no issues. Would rent again!

Coney Island rewards anyone willing to drive south from Midtown. The beach, the boardwalk, and the amusement rides sit about 45 minutes away without traffic (and feel a world away from the neon). Pack the beach gear and leave whenever you like, with no train transfers.
The Bronx Zoo ranks among the largest metropolitan zoos in the US, and it's an easy drive north of Times Square. A car lets a family arrive on their own timeline instead of stringing together train and bus connections. On-site parking sits right by the gates — steps from the entrance.
This sprawling Queens park holds Citi Field and the tennis center that hosts the US Open. It sits a short hop east of Midtown, minutes away by car. Ample parking makes game days and events far simpler than crowding onto the 7 train.

LaGuardia is the closest airport to Times Square, about eight miles east in Queens. Booking a car rental at LaGuardia Airport lets you skip the shuttle and drive straight onto the Grand Central Parkway. You can arrange to meet near the terminal or have the car delivered to nearby airport parking.
Flying in internationally usually means landing at JFK in southeastern Queens. A JFK airport pickup sets you up to reach Midtown, Brooklyn, or Long Island on your own timeline. Confirm your pickup spot in the app before you land so arrival runs smoothly.
If you're already staying near Times Square, a local pickup keeps things simple — arrange delivery to your hotel or a quiet side street, grab the keys, and head out when you're ready. Just across the East River, Long Island City rentals put you minutes from Midtown with easier curbside handoffs. Arriving from New Jersey instead? Newark airport rentals give you a straight shot into the city from the west.

Next time you fly, don’t wait in line and fill out forms — pick your car up at hundreds of popular airports.
Rather than hustling at the busy terminal curbside, take your time picking up the car at approved parking lots or garages. Check in, load up your luggage, and get comfortable with the car without a big rush.

A few local realities shape any drive around Times Square: heavy traffic, scarce parking, tolls, and thin fuel options downtown. Here's how to plan around each one before you pick up your car.
Drive defensively in Midtown, where pedestrians, cyclists, and taxis fill every block. The speed limit is 25 mph on most city streets. New York City also bans right turns on red unless a sign says otherwise (yes, even when the road looks empty). Traffic peaks on weekday mornings and evenings.
Free street parking near Times Square barely exists, so plan on a paid garage. A full day in a Midtown garage can run steep, especially around the theater district. If your hotel offers valet or a parking package, that's often the easiest option for overnight stays.
Here's the big one: Times Square sits inside Manhattan's congestion pricing zone, so driving into Midtown carries added costs. Check current tolls and driving charges for your route before your trip. Leaning on delivery means you skip the stress of circling for a spot.
Fuel options are thin right around Midtown, so plan ahead based on your route and vehicle type. Fill up or charge in the outer boroughs, where stations and chargers are easier to find. A quick check in your app before a longer drive keeps you covered.
For Times Square itself, no — walking and the subway cover Midtown better than any car. You want a rental for everything beyond the core: Coney Island's beaches, the Bronx, and the wider corners of Queens. Rent for the day trips, and lean on transit while you're downtown.
You need a valid driver's license and the payment method you booked with. Bring the same physical license you used to book, and complete any checkout steps in the app before your trip starts. A valid license from outside the US that grants full driving privileges works too.
Any valid, unexpired driver's license with full driving privileges. Turo accepts permanent licenses issued in the US or by your home country, but not learner's or instruction permits. Suspended, altered, conditional, or restricted licenses don't qualify.
You must be at least 18 to book a standard vehicle. Higher-value cars require you to be 21 or older, deluxe vehicles 25 or older, and super deluxe, classic, or specialty vehicles 30 or older. If you're between 18 and 24, you'll also pay a young driver fee based on your age at booking.
You can add a protection plan during checkout, choosing the option that fits your trip. Each listing shows the plans available, so review the details before you book. See the disclaimer below for the specifics that apply in the US.
Often, yes. Many cars come with weekly and monthly discounts that lower the daily rate the longer you book. Compare listings near Times Square to spot the best value for your dates.
Yes. You can book a car for weeks or even months at a time, with no loan, lease, or dealership involved. Longer trips frequently unlock better daily rates.
Some cars offer unlimited distance, while others include a set number of miles per day. Each listing spells out its mileage allowance, so filter and check before you book if you plan to rack up the miles on day trips.
Yes, additional approved drivers can share the driving. You add them yourself in the Turo app before the trip, and each driver goes through the same quick approval. There's no need to arrange this at pickup.
It depends on the car, your dates, and how long you book. Everyday cars cost less per day than luxury or specialty models, and longer trips often earn weekly or monthly discounts. Browsing listings for your exact dates gives you the clearest price.
You'll find a wide range of vehicles to match your trip:
Cars — everyday sedans and compacts for easy city driving.
SUVs — extra space and comfort for families and luggage.
Minivans — room for larger groups heading out of the city.
Convertibles — open-top fun for scenic leisure drives.
Luxury cars — premium picks for a special occasion.
Electric vehicles — efficient options for eco-minded guests.
Vans — maximum capacity for big groups and gear.
Sports cars — head-turning drives for enthusiasts.
Yes. You can book by the month and keep a car for as long as your plans require. Explore long-term car rentals to compare vehicles with monthly rates.
Any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your protection plan, except in limited situations for trips booked in Maryland, but this protects your own wallet. In the US, liability insurance is provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company. Terms, conditions, and exclusions apply. The policy does not provide coverage for damage to a host’s vehicle.
For questions or information about the third party liability insurance that is included in protection plans, consumers in Maryland and the licensed states listed here may contact Turo Insurance Agency at (415) 508-0283 or claims@turo.agency.
