Model Y specs
Range
Up to 357 mi
Weight
About 4,150–4,480 lb
Acceleration
0–60 mph in as little as 3.3 seconds
Top speed
125–155 mph
You get a hefty 76 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seats folded, which puts the Model Y firmly in compact SUV territory — even if it looks like a sedan at first glance. As you'd expect from Tesla, there's no gas here: the Model Y is all electric and fully recharges in about 10 hours on a 240V charger.
Rent a Tesla Model Y and you'll get a full lineup of infotainment options that make your journey simpler. Watch for dark clouds on the horizon with the live weather map, take the best route with detour estimates, or entertain kids and kids-at-heart with Tesla Arcade.
Available on many Model Y vehicles, Tesla integrates its full self-driving suite for added convenience and safety. Choose your driving style, and then, sit back and supervise as your Model Y shuttles you to your destination.
Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly common, but not all electric cars are built the same. With a futuristic, updated exterior and an all-new interior, the 2025 Model Y plants its wheels firmly in tomorrow, while earlier versions offer the proven performance and signature Tesla features drivers expect. Whichever year you pick, the Model Y makes a great Tesla rental.

Each of Tesla's electric cars grants you access to the maker's Supercharger network, and the Model Y is no different. With more than 60,000 Superchargers, you can venture to virtually any city and keep your electric vehicle rental fully charged. Short on time? Don't worry. Recharge your Model Y for up to 182 miles of range in 15 minutes with a Supercharger.
Forget about the many gauges, knobs, and dials in your ride. Tesla's Model Y takes after the other Tesla vehicles with a single infotainment display right at the center of the dashboard. You get clean, sleek lines and every control at your fingertips — each one just a tap away.
You won't need to wait long if you're at a Supercharger, but make the most of that 15-minute charge with Tesla Arcade, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and more. Cozy into the spacious cabin and gaze out the all-glass roof, or get in a few rounds of your favorite game before you return on the road.

It's rare to find someone who lends such a kind and good vehicle. I hope you can rent a car from this person and have a happy and enjoyable trip.

Car condition was awesome and I enjoyed my trips during the whole period! The host was very friendly and easy to communicate. I highly recommend this car if you are considering to rent Tesla!

The rental process was smooth and effortless with clear instructions. Pickup and drop off were a breeze. The Tesla drove immaculately and there were no issues whatsoever. I’d definitely come back to rent again.

The Tesla FSD is crazy good and easy to drive! Host is very friendly too helped with our questions patiently. Enjoyed a perfect trip with Tesla, car is new and beautiful!
Michele is such an amazing and thoughtful host. From placing my reservation to meeting up to receive the pristine vehicle she really added the special touch to my vacation! I highly recommend and will be continuing to book with her she’s so nice and I am forever grateful!
Great experience. Very seamless. Lovely gentleman met us at pick up and drop off. Highly recommend the car. Fantastic drive. Smooth and now I can’t go without self drive 😊
Great first experience with this host. The Tesla Model Y was clean, drove really well, and Full Self-Driving made the trip much more relaxing. Communication was clear and helpful throughout. Handoff was smooth and the host was flexible with the return. Would rent again.
Excellent service from beginning to end. Car was clean, efficient, and enjoyable to drive. Ryan is easy breezy to work with. I will definitely be a repeat client!! 🙌

The Model Y puts speed, range, navigation, and climate on one center touchscreen instead of a display behind the steering wheel. Return it with the same battery level you had at pickup, and move the car within five minutes of finishing a Supercharger session to skip idle fees. Any Supercharger fees you rack up during your trip are yours to cover.
Remember that even in self-driving mode, your Tesla still needs you at its helm to stay as safe as possible. Use the front-facing cameras and blind-spot monitoring system to keep abreast of your surroundings, day or night.

To rent a Tesla Model Y on Turo in the US, you'll need to create a Turo account, have a valid driver's license, get approved to drive on Turo, and be 18 or older.
When you’re booking your first trip, you’ll go through a quick approval process by entering your driver’s license and some other information. In most cases, you’ll get approved immediately, and you’ll be set for all future road trips, day trips, and business trips!
Turo accepts valid licenses (not expired, suspended, or revoked) that allow for full driving privileges; this includes driver’s licenses issued outside of the US. Licenses that Turo doesn’t accept in the US include any that have expired, have been altered, are conditional, probational, provisional, or restricted. Learner’s permit/instruction permits are not accepted.
To rent a Tesla Model Y on Turo in the US, you must be 18 years old or older.
No, you don’t need personal insurance coverage to rent a car on Turo.
In the US, any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your Turo protection plan. When booking a car in the US, you’ll choose between three protection plans — Premier (eligibility requirements apply), Standard, or Minimum — to get the level of protection that’s right for you. On each trip, you’re covered with third-party automobile liability insurance provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company.*
In New York state, you’ll also choose between Premier (if available), Standard, or Minimum. With each plan, you’re covered with liability insurance of $1,250,000.* Protection plans for New York trips also include access to roadside assistance, priority phone support, and 24/7 customer assistance.
You can get discounts and low-cost Tesla Model Y rentals on Turo.
On your Account page, make sure you’ve checked the box to receive email notifications, and enable push notifications from the Turo app in your phone settings — we’ll send you occasional promo codes, discounts, and deals.
Additionally, frequent travelers on Turo can get rewarded with the loyalty bonus — earn a promo code for one bonus day when you take trips totaling 10 days in a 90-day period.
Yes — whether you want to rent a Tesla Model Y for three days, three months, or even longer, you can on Turo. Local vehicle owners can offer discounts on bookings of three or more, seven or more, or 30 or more days, so booking a longer trip can land you the best deals and lowest rates.
Some local vehicle owners offer unlimited distance for a trip; others set a daily distance limit — you’ll need to check each Model Y listing individually to see if this service is provided. On the vehicle pages, you’ll see the total miles you’re allowed to drive under the heading “Distance included.” You can find cars offering unlimited mileage with every trip by using the “Unlimited distance” filter.
Yes, multiple guests can drive the car you rent on Turo, as long as they are all approved to drive. The primary driver (whoever rented the car) can add additional drivers with no fees or additional charges. Only you, the primary driver, can request to add drivers — local vehicle owners can't do it for you. We encourage you to request to add additional drivers before your trip starts, though guests can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress.
To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.
* Any personal insurance you may have that covers damage to the host’s vehicle would kick in before your protection plan, except in limited situations for trips booked in Maryland, but this protects your own wallet. In the US, liability insurance is provided under a policy issued to Turo by Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company. Terms, conditions, and exclusions apply. The policy does not provide coverage for damage to a host’s vehicle.
For questions or information about the third party liability insurance for trips in the US, consumers in Maryland and the licensed states listed here may contact Turo Insurance Agency at (415) 508-0283 or claims@turo.agency. For questions about how damage to a host’s vehicle is handled, visit the Turo Support site. When a trip is booked in the state of Washington, physical damage to the host’s vehicle is covered by insurance purchased by Turo, but the Turo insurance does not change the contractual responsibilities of hosts or guests with respect to physical damage to a host’s vehicle.
