A Polaris Slingshot rental puts you in an open-air roadster with two wheels up front and one in back. There are no doors and no roof — just side-by-side bucket seats and a whole lot of sky. Turo's blog even calls it the "three-wheeled Batmobile."
On Turo, you book your Slingshot from a local vehicle owner and arrange pickup and drop-off that fit your plans. Compare listings by trim, transmission, and location, then claim the cockpit.

The Slingshot pairs a 2.0L ProStar four-cylinder engine with a build of roughly 1,650 lbs, and that ratio is the whole point. The SLR, R, Signature Edition, and Grand Touring make 204 hp, while the S and SL make 180 hp. On the R, you also get 149.8 lb-ft of torque — serious pull for something this light.
You can row your own gears or let the Slingshot handle the clutch work, depending on the listing you pick. Some Slingshots on Turo have a five-speed manual, which gives you full control of every shift. Others have AutoDrive, an automated manual that shifts for you.
On the R, AutoDrive comes with paddle shifters, so you can still choose your gears with a flick of your fingers. Turo's blog calls the paddle-shift setup intuitive, especially paired with the Slingshot's light weight and wide-open visibility. Driving a manual without clutch expertise is not permitted on Turo, so check the transmission before you book.
The Slingshot's 7-inch RIDE COMMAND display keeps your tech within reach, even with the sky as your ceiling. On the R, it adds GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and a backup camera. That means turn-by-turn directions, your playlist on the screen, and an easier time backing into tight parking spots.
The S takes a simpler route with a 2.7-inch Rockford Fosgate display. Want built-in navigation or phone mirroring? Check the trim in the listing before you book — the tech varies from one Slingshot to the next.
A Slingshot turns heads at every stoplight, which makes it a natural pick for sunny weekends, scenic drives, and celebrations. Plan a birthday cruise, an anniversary surprise, or a coastal loop with nothing between you and the breeze. If you love sky overhead, browse more open-air convertible rentals on Turo too.

Three things set the Slingshot apart: its three-wheel stance, a deep trim lineup, and autocycle access in most states.
The Slingshot's silhouette starts with its wheels — two 18-inch wheels up front and one 20-inch wheel in back. That layout gives it a wide, planted nose and a look that's hard to mistake in traffic. Expect curious glances at gas stations and plenty of questions in parking lots.
On the R, a 305 mm rear tire fills out the back and puts power to the pavement. Add the open cockpit — no doors, no roof, and only half a windscreen — and you've got a roadster made for being seen.
The 2026 Slingshot comes in six trims: S, SL, SLR, R, Signature Edition, and Grand Touring. That range lets you match the ride to the trip, whether you want the essentials or the full tech package.
The S and SL make 180 hp, while the SLR, R, Signature Edition, and Grand Touring step up to 204 hp. If you want paddle shifters, navigation, and Apple CarPlay, look for the R. Local vehicle owners on Turo list a mix of trims, so compare listings to find your fit.
In most states, the Slingshot counts as an autocycle, so you need only a standard driver's license to drive one. That puts the open-air, three-wheel experience within reach of plenty of drivers who don't hold a motorcycle endorsement. In those states, the license already in your wallet does the job.
Classification varies by state, though, so the rules can change from one place to the next. Massachusetts, for example, requires a motorcycle endorsement. Check your state's rules before you book — and look again if your trip crosses state lines.

The car was absolutely amazing, it drove so well and it was super fun. Not only that but the host was even better , accomodating every request and even providing extra luxury. Very gas efficient, great car to rent for the city, and turns all the heads.

Despite the weather not being cooperative in LA, we still had fun cruising around in this super cool car! The host was even cooler! Very responsive, and flexible. Provided clear directions and answered all my questions. Thank you for the amazing car and even more amazing experience!

A little prep goes a long way in a Slingshot: pack light, confirm the transmission, and check your state's rules before you book.
The Slingshot seats two in an open cockpit, and storage comes down to a glovebox and space behind the seats. Pack light — a soft bag beats a rolling suitcase. The tank holds 9.77 gal, so keep an eye on the gauge during long scenic drives.
Polaris states the Slingshot isn't an automobile, and it has no airbags. Ready to find yours? Start with Slingshot rentals in Miami, Polaris rentals in Orlando, and Slingshots near Atlanta.
The Slingshot is light and easy to see out of, and a few quick checks before your trip keep the drive smooth:
Check the listing for manual or AutoDrive, and book a manual only if you're an expert with a clutch.
Confirm your state's license and helmet rules before you drive.
Stay on paved roads. Off-roading is not permitted on Turo.
Dress for sun and wind with sunscreen, sunglasses, and a layer for cooler evenings.
Slingshot prices vary because local vehicle owners set their own rates based on location, trim, and season. Demand peaks from March through August, so book early if you're eyeing a warm-weather trip.
