The vehicle had a large crack on windshield from previous trip that was not inspected and not repaired. The host was aware of the damage and willingly hid this information.
The car showed lights for overdue maintenance by mileage for fuel, filter and tires. It also smelled like cigarettes.
1 week prior to this trip, the host requested cancellation of another trip, demonstrating that they could've cancelled this trip too. Had I been informed or discovered the windshield damage prior to check in (damage was in the top dark corner, discovered later on the road), I wouldve cancelled.
Host refused to take responsibility, denied that their vehicle needed maintenance and blamed Turo platform for "allowing the vehicle to be listed". Proposed resolution from host was to waive mileage over limit (23km , $3.91).

Thank you for your feedback. The windshield crack occurred during the previous trip, and I had already scheduled its replacement. It was at the top edge of the windshield and did not affect visibility or safe operation. The maintenance light was only a routine oil service reminder. This is a 2023 vehicle, purchased new and regularly maintained. Although I couldn't offer the discount requested, I waived the excess mileage charge as a gesture of goodwill.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry about the cigarette smell. Unfortunately, a previous Turo guest smoked in the vehicle. As the host, I did not receive any compensation for this, but I paid to have the interior professionally cleaned and treated to remove the odor. The maintenance reminder was only for a scheduled oil service, which was booked for the following week and did not affect the vehicle's safety. Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your comments and will continue to improve. Due to the current water restrictions in Vancouver, vehicle cleaning has been more challenging than usual. However, I understand the importance of providing a clean and comfortable vehicle for every guest, and I will make every effort to improve the cleaning process for future rentals.
