The vehicle was not roadworthy upon arriving to pick it up.
One of the headlights was non-functional, and the host asked us to drive this car to a mechanic in either Mississauga or across town in Hamilton immediately upon receiving it.
We had an appointment to keep right after getting the car, and did not have the ability in our schedule to cancel this ride and attempt to find alternative transport for our trip. The host offered us 15% off of a future rental and an extra hour to return the car (though we had selected a drop off time that was many hours
We were forced to go run our time sensitive errand (with the broken headlight), then drive back and take the car to a mechanic shop of the hosts choosing which caused us to drive extra distance and took around 2 hours for us to deal with including waiting at the mechanics while the host had the repairs done.
When returning the vehicle, there was no designated return spot or parking available causing us to drive around the block multiple times until we could find the only available little space to squeeze the car into.
We had just put about $30 of fuel back into the vehicle before driving it back to the host and dropping it off. At the gas station this fill up got the car's needle to about 90% of a full tank from a half tank. The next day we somehow got a charge of $40 to fill the car up the rest of the way, and were charged a $10 "convenience" fee.
We will avoiding this host going forward.
We use Communauto frequently for most of our car renting needs, but thought that for a 4 day rental with minimal distance actually driving for most days that we would be better of using Turo. Unfortunately we regret that choice, and after adding up the cost of fuel that we paid for, PLUS the charge from the host for the exorbitant top-up rate, AND with the extra time, distance, and fuel use due to having to drive the car to a mechanic for issues un-related to our use, we will likely avoid using Turo entirely going forward, due to this experience.

I apologize for the inconvenience regarding the headlight. As soon as you informed me about the issue, I asked you to visit my mechanic to have it resolved.The replacement itself only took 5 minutes, rather than the extended time described in your review. Additionally, it seems this feedback is an excuse because you were upset about being charged for the refuelling.This is mandatory based on Turo policy, as you returned the car only 3/4 of a tank, and it’s appears you are trying to avoid pay it
