The vehicle itself was clean, reliable, and drove well throughout our trip. Communication was good, and overall the rental went smoothly.
On the drive home from pick up, we realized the right rear seatbelt was broken and couldn’t be used. Fortunately, it didn’t affect our trip, and the host said he would have it repaired.
The biggest disappointment was the return experience. Although Turo’s cleaning policy doesn’t require guests to wash a vehicle unless there’s excessive dirt, mud, spills, or another unusually serious mess, I still cleaned the vehicle inside and out before returning it. At drop-off, the host criticized me for not cleaning the door jambs and for a tiny amount of sand in the front trunk. When I pointed out Turo’s cleaning policy, he replied that he had asked me to return the vehicle “the same as you got it” and later submitted a cleaning claim anyway.
That left a bad impression. I made a good-faith effort to return the vehicle in excellent condition, even though I wasn’t required to clean it under Turo’s policy. Being criticized over minor details and having a cleaning claim submitted despite that took away from what was otherwise a positive rental experience.
Overall, the vehicle was reliable and we had a good trip. I would just encourage future guests to be aware that this host’s expectations for cleanliness appear to be higher than Turo’s published cleaning policy.

Guest was punctual and communication was good throughout the trip. The vehicle was returned with a lower battery level than it was provided, so a post-trip charging fee was required. Regarding the cleanliness, I simply explained that the vehicle needed to be cleaned for the next guest, and I have to clean it, as there was a considerable amount of sand left inside the cabin that required additional cleaning. Overall, I appreciate the trip and wish them the best in their future Turo rentals.

Jay’s car is in pristine condition. It looks brand new despite being 4 years old. Our whole experience with Jay was seamless and positive. We rented the car for a road trip to see if we would like driving a Tesla as seriously contemplating buying one. This positive experience has resulted in us deciding to move forward with a purchase. We highly recommend doing a rental with Jay.
