Very disappointing experience with Broz Motors and unfortunately one that has made me seriously reconsider using Turo again.
I booked a 2022 Honda Civic specifically because I wanted a newer, fuel-efficient vehicle with features like Android Auto. After I had already landed at the airport, I received a message saying the Civic was not ready and that they could instead provide me with a 2016 Acura TLX.
That was absolutely not an equivalent replacement. I went from expecting a newer, fuel-efficient Civic to being given a much older, less fuel-efficient vehicle, while still being expected to pay the same price. Had I wanted a 2016 Acura TLX, I would have booked one.
This was the first time I have rented through Turo where I genuinely felt like I experienced a bait-and-switch situation. To make matters worse, I was told they would switch me into the vehicle I originally booked the following day, but that promise was never fulfilled.
Although Turo did ultimately refund me, that doesn't make up for the inconvenience. I had to spend a significant portion of my vacation day returning the Acura, dealing with the situation, searching for another rental, and picking up a replacement vehicle from a traditional rental company. That was vacation time I couldn't get back and an unnecessary headache that should never have happened in the first place.
The entire experience left a very sour taste in my mouth. If a reputable, established rental car company is only $50–$100 more, I would personally pay the difference for the peace of mind of knowing that the vehicle I reserve is actually the vehicle I will receive.
When you're arriving from a flight and starting a vacation, the last thing you should have to deal with is finding out at the last minute that the car you specifically booked isn't available, being given an older and less fuel-efficient substitute for the same price, and then having to waste part of your vacation fixing the problem yourself.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this rental experience.
