The car was in excellent shape and we felt very safe driving. It was also extremely fuel efficient! Rob was an excellent and responsive host, and was very accommodating when we needed to make last minute changes . Would definitely book again, thank you!

Firstly the good bit - Rob, the owner of this car, was proactive in his communication and was super responsive to my reach outs as well. Honda Civics are robust cars and this one is no exception. We drove this car from coast to coast of NL and back and the ride was smooth and comfortable. During the course of our 12-day in this car, the overall mileage of the car improved from 6.4 L/100 Km to 5.9 L/100 Km.
Now for the rating justification - Rob messaged me on the day of the pickup that the windshield had a crack from the previous booking but that did not affect driving as the crack was not in driver's view. When I went to pick up the car is when it became apparent that the crack was a pretty large one and it most certainly came in driver's view. We did not have time to look for alternatives as we had booked a hotel in Gros Morne. So, we had to just go with it. The crack was Especially annoying during the evenings - the crack would retract incoming cars' headlights through the crack and I had to look to the side to avoid the refracted light. My wife always takes photos of our road trips through the windshield. In this trip though, she couldn't take any photos of NL's beauty through the windshield as the crack was sticking out like a sore thumb in the photos. Also, the hub cap of the tyres seem to be held together by zip ties. Due to the crack and the zip ties, it was a bit embarrassing when we took our car to fine dines. So, we didn't take the car to any valet and parked it everywhere ourselves.
On reaching out to the car owner to let them know that we were unhappy about the car's condition, they offered a discount but later on came back with 15% or so discount on our next Turo trip that would expire in 90 days - basically a completely useless "discount" despite them very well knowing that they didn't deliver on what was promised to us at the time of booking.
Super disappointed with this booking and I encourage you to keep looking for better options if you are looking to rent a car in St. John's.
