I picked up the car and there was puke in the ventilation system. I didn’t realize it until I got to my destination as I was in a rush to leave but reported the smell immediately. I had to clean it out using a tips, tooth picks and a hand wipes. Even after 2 hours of cleaning the smell was still there as it’s now lodged in the vents. On my third day of having the car I was returning from a birthday lunch where while I was driving on the highway the back tire blew out causing me to almost get in an accident. I had to arrange a $95 tow from the middle of the highway to my home. I had to return the car to Montreal by Wednesday as I leave for a euro trip for Thursday and couldn’t risk not being able to find a proper tire replacement in time as everything was closed for thanksgiving weekend so I arranged the tow back to Montreal. Philip wasn’t bad to deal with but only seemed to care and respond when I mentioned that I would get Turo involved in the situation. Several times he wouldn’t respond to my messages and/ or would try and take the chat offline by calling me. Overall a pretty terrible experience i can’t imagine myself ever using Turo again, it’s too risky and it seem that the car owners don’t value having a safe vehicle for the renters
Thanks Luke, if I had to repeat everything discussed it would be pointless, to certain things though like taking the chat offline…you see the amount of things you just wrote to bash us…when things could take half that time with a conversation. That was the main reason. Nothing to hide from Turo. Your situation required a little more hands on care rather than indefinite texting back and fourth. We have 26 cars on the platform with a pretty good rating overall. Achieved by doing our best work.
