If there were an option to give a negative-star rating, I would choose it for this experience. I am sharing this to advise future renters to be extremely vigilant when dealing with this host. A long story but worth to read !
This was an entirely contactless rental with zero in-person interaction. When I picked up the vehicle at Charlottetown airport public parking lot, it was visibly dirty and covered in a layer of dust, which made it very difficult to spot any minor pre-existing blemishes.
I returned the car to the same public parking lot, locked the keys in the lockbox as instructed, and instantly messaged the host. Here again, no in-person interaction. Yet, 20 hours after my return, the host submitted a refueling claim and a damage claim alleging scratches and a collision, stating that the vehicle was inspected the following day. (Surprisingly, super fast action for arranging inspection, seems like knowing something in advance?!)
During my rental, the vehicle was driven normally with no accidents or impacts. Regarding the fuel, the vehicle was fully refueled prior to return, supported by a valid gas receipt. The host’s own dashboard photo showed the fuel gauge needle pointing to "Full." Despite this, the host adjusted the requested baseline fuel charge (excluding Turo administrative fees) from $50 down to $35 within a two-hour window. But still, a $35 fuel charge equates to approximately 1/3 of a full tank of gas, which directly contradicts the "Full" reading shown on the dashboard in the host's own submitted photo, not even mention the original $50 claims.
At the end, Turo officially rejected the host's requests, dismissing the refueling charge and determining the alleged vehicle damage to be normal wear and tear.
Anyway, If you rent this car, I highly recommend taking extremely detailed photos of every single inch of the vehicle at both pick-up and drop-off to protect yourself from post-trip claims. I will never be renting from this host again.
