How do I get to Rennes?

Plane: located around 3 miles southwest of Rennes, Rennes-Bretagne airport offers national and some international flights. It is well served by shuttles and cabs.
Rail: Rennes station is a major rail hub on the TGV network. With the Bretagne-Pays de la Loire high-speed line (LGV), you can reach Paris in less than 1 h 30. Rennes is also connected to other major French and European cities.
By car: from Paris, take the A11 freeway, then the A81. From the north, the A84 is the main route. From the west and south-west, take the N24 and N137.
Bus: many coach companies offer routes to Rennes, making it an economical option for getting to the city.
Once in Rennes, the city has an excellent public transport network including metro, bus and self-service bicycles, making it easy to get around the metropolis. For added convenience, consider getting your car on the Turo platform as soon as you arrive at the station or airport.

What to do in Rennes?

Rennes, the jewel of Brittany, is a must for lovers of history, culture and gourmet delights.
For a moment of relaxation, let yourself be seduced by the charm of the Parc du Thabor, a verdant oasis in the heart of the city and one of the most beautiful public gardens in France, combining formal, English and botanical gardens. The Piscine Saint-Georges, with its mosaics and colorful cabins, is a charming place for a swim or simply to admire its architecture. Go for a rejuvenating stroll and visit the Roche aux Fées, 30 minutes from Rennes, one of Brittany's most impressive dolmens. Finish with a shopping spree on Rue du Champ Jacquet.
Then immerse yourself in art and culture at the Musée des Beaux-Arts. Continue to the Champs Libres, a cultural complex housing the Musée de Bretagne, the Espace des Sciences and the Rennes Métropole library. The city's landmark, the Parlement de Bretagne, is a historic building that once housed the Breton parliament. Guided tours are available. As you drive through the city, you'll come across the Portes Mordelaises, ancient city gates that bear witness to Rennes' rich medieval past.
As night falls, succumb to the temptation of a Breton crêpe, washed down with a glass of sweet cider, in one of the crêperies lining Place Sainte-Anne. In Rennes, every moment is an invitation to discover the Breton way of life. What's more, Rennes is a dynamic student city, with numerous events, concerts and festivals throughout the year. The many bars and cafés in the city center also offer a lively atmosphere, especially around Place Sainte-Anne. If you're in Rennes in December, don't miss the famous Transmusicales music festival, which attracts artists from all over the world. Place des Lices is particularly well known for its weekly market and covered market.

Don’t forget to check previous guests' ratings and reviews to choose your vehicle with confidence.

Which rental car in Rennes?

Budget: if you're looking to minimize costs, choose compact cars like the Dacia Sandero or Ford Fiesta. These models are often cheaper to lease and consume less fuel.
Comfort: MPVs like the Renault Espace or SUVs like the Nissan Qashqai offer more space for passengers and luggage, making them ideal for long journeys or if you're traveling in a group.
Ecology: if you're concerned about the environment or want to try out the latest innovations, consider an electric car like the Renault Zoé or a hybrid like the Toyota Prius.
Exploration: if your intention is to explore the Breton countryside around Rennes, small roads and coastal villages, a compact SUV like the Peugeot 2008 could be ideal for combining comfort and off-road capabilities.
Authenticity: for a touch of French elegance, get a car with character for an unforgettable vintage driving experience.
