Easy pickup, car worked, expensive fuel

All the issues previously documented with the vehicle were still true when we rented the car. You just need to ask yourself how much it bothers you.
Quick Summary of those issues
• Cleanliness- there was a lot of dirt in the floormats.
• A few warning lights come on everytime you start it. They go away within a minute
• If there isnt someone in the passenger seat there is another warning light that comes on.
• We struggled to connect a phone to the aftermarket screen and get it to work. My wife's phone is old so we were able to connect it directly to the stereo with a USB cord.
• The aftermarket screen also rattled at speed, an earplug or a pack of gum stopped the rattling
• Gas tank was 1/4 full when we picked it up. Not a huge deal, but something to be noted.
However....you're renting a 14 year old G Wagon at a decent price. Roll the windows down, listen to that amazing exhaust and have fun.

Great car, loved the engine. Super easy pickup and drop off. Would rent again.

Great car and great trip

Overall had a ok time with the G-Wagon. But there a few issues that had I known these before hand, I would not have rented this car. I am writing this from the perspective of someone who is also a host on Turo and a similar platform, (but for boats) where I have over 1,500 concluded trips.

The car was not washed beforehand and not vacuumed. How clean something is can be arbitrary. I would put it this way, if you got this from a traditional rental car company, you would have sent it back and told them to clean the car properly. Clean the windshield, (inside and out), vacuum the floor/ seat crevices and clean the rubber floor mats.

The aftermarket screen/infotainment unit rattles around while driving. I had to place a t-shirt between the unit and windshield to stop the unit from rattling around. Incredibly frustrating.

We were able to pair our phones to the aftermarket unit, but could never get Spotify to play music. Tried two different Android phones and two iPhones, same issue. They Connected, GPS worked as expected and we could navigate through the unit/other apps, but no luck with Spotify. We did every combo of on/off. Reset, pair, disconnect, re-pair you can image, but were unsuccessful.

The car drives and mechanically runs great. The V8 can chew through miles and climbs up hills with ease. You will still get looks in the parking lot as the the G-Wagon still commands that presence.

Windshield wipers need to be replaced. Heavy rain during our rental and it was incredibly difficult to see, especially at night.

Overall the car is "rough around the edges" which is to be somewhat expected for a car of this age, but doesn't match with the price point for the rental or why I think people choose to rent from Turo vs traditional car rental companies.
