Nick went above and beyond to make this rental accommodating to me and family.

The car is in perfect condition and has the kick of a good Bavarian car 🤙👌

I’d recommend it without hesitation.

This trip experience is my first and only time I would ever use the Turo service.

I was expecting the pickup process to be easy; it turned out to be a nightmare.

The host instructed me to enter the building and proceed to the parking lot to retrieve the vehicle. The problem was that the host didn't inform me that it was a PRIVATE residence parking lot beforehand, and the front desk in the building wouldn't allow me to access it.

I then messaged the host, and he stated that I shouldn't have done that and gave me the apartment number at that moment. Then he called me and we talked, and we agreed that I would wait for him to come and retrieve the vehicle for me. Reflecting on it, I should have canceled the reservation, but I was with my elderly parents and uncle, and I didn't want to disappoint them.

The host came 30 minutes after our phone call, and he stated that he had never had a problem with guests picking up from him. I seriously doubt it.

So, I got the vehicle and used it until August 30. Before that, I asked the host if it would be possible for him to pick up the car from the hotel where I would be staying for the night. He stated he would try, depending on his schedule.

On August 30, I texted the host and asked, "Are you available tonight to pick up?" He stated that due to his work commitments, he was unable to do that. He offered two options: either return the vehicle to its original location, parked in the private parking lot, or bring it directly to him at his workplace, which was over 40 minutes from the hotel.

I reached out to him. Can you stop by the hotel after work to pick up the car? He never responded to my messages, and I called him, but he went straight to voicemail.

I eventually called TURO customer service and explained that the host hadn't replied to my messages or calls. TURO reached out to the host and informed them that the host would respond within 10 minutes, but no response was received from the host.

Ultimately, I brought the vehicle back to its pickup location; however, I dropped it off at the public parking lot, as I refused to return it to the private lot, since I'm not a resident of the building.

I texted him that I had returned the vehicle, paid the parking tag with my own money, and returned the keys to the lockbox.

I took clear photos of the vehicle and sent them to him. He kept bugging me about where the car was, when the images clearly show the vehicle was parked in the public parking section.

This experience was disappointing, and I was frustrated.

Now, the host has opened a damage report on me.

People, two words: choose carefully.

Nick's response

Guest ignored pickup instructions, left the car away from the agreed spot, never handed keys, and caused damage to a rim. I canceled plans twice and drove from another city to recover the vehicle. Not acceptable.

Super easy Hand over of the car. The car was clean to perfection. Drives very well. No Apple car play feature, but set up for the phone and charging cable in the car. I would rent this car always again.
