The host was very kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with — I really appreciate their help throughout the rental.
However, I would not recommend using this car in winter conditions. The vehicle is not equipped with winter tires, and given how harsh the weather has been in Toronto over the past couple of months, with heavy snow and icy roads, it made driving quite difficult and unsafe.
I was driving in a residential area and the car struggled to gain traction. I had to push the car myself four times due to lack of grip. The roads were extremely slippery, and unfortunately, the car eventually skidded, which resulted in a flat tire.
Although the tires themselves appear relatively new and in good condition, they are not suitable for winter driving. If they are all-season tires, they seem quite worn and not effective in snow.
Overall, the host was great, but I strongly recommend ensuring proper winter tires are installed if renting this vehicle during winter months.
