As another reviewer before me had reported, the front windscreen made an annoying and loud squeak when I picked it up. That persisted the whole trip. It also had a large crack in one of the back rear doors, which is normal in Canada because Tesla Ys have parts issues in the extreme cold - which is a well supported and widely documented problem. Then as soon as I started driving the car throws a service indicator at me to take it in and check if the coolant was leaking. I shared this with the host immediately, and he said don’t do anything like replace the coolant, but look for a leak. I said ok, looked for a leak and didn’t see one so with his approval continued the trip.
In other words the car had more than a couple problems when I picked it up.
Then I did my trip with no issues and went to drop it off early in the morning. We had an unusual pickup and drop off curbside at the airport. This was a mistake, and I should have insisted on the other practice other hosts have done with me and dropped at the airport short-term parking lot because I felt rushed curbside by the no parking rules and didn’t take pictures. That’s the big mistake because that evening (after the host had driven it himself for an unknown amount of mileage since drop-off) the host contacts me and says hey did a rock hit you on the highway? Me - No, it didn’t…we experienced no events on or off the road the whole trip (though again see the existing issues above). Ok he says, well anyway doesn’t matter you dear renter now owe $2,700 USD to repair the glass because this evening I found a small chip and crack in the glass (a repair which will likely incidentally fix the squeak the car had before as documented by another Turo renter). Worst rental experience of any kind of my life. I feel like he knew I didn’t take pictures at the end of the trip and therefore represented a huge opportunity to take advantage of.
Beware!
There is no review mentioning a loud squeak & it was never raised during your trip. The coolant low alert appeared on the 2nd day, as you stated while you were approaching Quebec City. It was later repaired at my own expense as mechanical issues are difficult to assign responsibility for. I advised to not add coolant yourself bc the type varies for electric & to avoid further damage or safety concerns. The glass damage was handled by Turo with welldocumented photos showing rock chip and cracking

Wow 🤩 I really enjoyed my moment with that car. I was like a little boy. I rent it 3 days and it performed extremely well. The host was fast to answers questions and the Turo process to pick up the car was easy. I had enough time to really get used to Tesla. Only minor thing was that the car was on winter tires and some worn out but it did not compromised my time because weather was great. Would not hesitate to rent again.
