Overall, it was an OKAY experience. I paid top dollar for this vehicle and also paid extra to have it delivered to my hotel rather than picking it up.
The main issues were that the car had not been washed, which I consider a basic expectation at this price point, and the brakes were very squeaky and loud.
I also paid extra for hotel delivery, but the Turo app didn’t save my request, so I had to update it the night before. The host mentioned they didn’t receive enough notice and that “the schedule was booked,” so they couldn’t bring the vehicle to my hotel.
They did cover the cost of my Uber to pick up the vehicle, which I appreciated, but I still lost over an hour dealing with traffic and going back and forth.
At this price point… you need to get the fundamentals right.
When I asked why the vehicle hadn’t been washed, they offered to have me drive back downtown to get it washed at their car wash… It wasn’t a reasonable option as I wasn’t going to waste close to two hours because the vehicle wasn’t properly prepared before pickup.
From my perspective, I took great care of the car and returned it with more fuel than I received it with. I simply expected the same level of care and attention from the host.
