During our 7-day rental, we drove under 1,600 km (leaving over 500 km of our allowance unused), kept the car clean, and returned it on time. I also promptly paid the host's post-trip $53.25 CAD fuel invoice to keep things square. Unfortunately, the dashboard displayed an active 'Maintenance Due Soon' warning. Ultimately, this led to a mechanical failure at the end of the trip: the battery failed to hold a charge. Following the host's exact written advice, we safely managed the starting issue so the vehicle could be returned. The car was inspected, accepted in person, and successfully driven away by the host at drop-off. Hosts must ensure their vehicles are roadworthy rather than passing the burden of basic wear-and-tear onto guests. Cannot recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. The “Maintenance Due Soon” message was a routine service reminder, not an indication of a mechanical or battery failure. The vehicle was operating normally at pickup, and the battery issue occurred unexpectedly near the end of the trip. Whether this resulted from normal wear or improper use can only be determined after inspection. I responded promptly and assisted with the return. The vehicle is now being inspected and serviced.
Great rental! The car was super comfortable, smooth, and clean. Driving it was a blast, and the host made everything seamless
