Worst rental experience ever! If I could give zero stars I would.
I paid more than $3000 to book the vehicle for the week, including the extra fee for airport pick up and drop off. The owner was late for pickup at the airport and asked me to Uber to a remote location. He ended up bringing the vehicle to us at night. On drop off he asked me to meet at a Tim Horton’s, He said Turo didn’t pay him extra for airport drop off (so I guess not his money, not his problem).
The check engine light was on the whole trip and the exhaust was toxic.
But it gets even better!
When we dropped off the car he pointed out some tiny defect in the windshield, something you barely notice in the daylight, let alone in the dark! He said it was fine, took pictures of the vehicle showing no damage and drove off.
20 minutes later he posted additional pictures with a closeup of a now larger defect in his windshield and a crack in his running board. Not a dent. A crack, which only happens from repetitive stress and corrosion from snow and salt.
AND THEN he filed a damage claim with Turo claiming that I caused all of this damage! Such a terrible experience from start to finish, and I’m still waiting for Turo to review his claims. Zero stars.
I’m sorry the guest felt disappointed, and I regret any inconvenience. Due to heavy traffic, I arrived slightly late and arranged an Uber at my own cost to assist. The vehicle was returned with damage, which was documented with evidence and handled through the app as per policy. Guests are responsible for the care of the vehicle, approved drivers, and any damages during their trip. I always aim to act fairly and professionally.

Great vehicle, awesome owner who patiently taught me the features of the vehicle. String well maintained vehicle. Hopefully when I need to rent a larger SUV it will be available.
