Cracked windshield and TPMS light on

Unfortunately we had several issues with this rental that I feel others should be aware of. I was exclusively looking for a car that had a ski rack, car seat, and winter tires. While it did have new winter tires, I was told repeatedly after I’d already confirmed a non-refundable booking that, although he could put a car seat in, he would strongly recommend against it because the ones he has are so dirty that he wouldn’t even use for his own grandchildren. As for the ski rack, i asked to clarify what kind of rack his was and was told that “the ski racks kept getting ripped off” so the only way thing remaining were the Tesla roof bars. I brought the necessary straps to attach our ski bag to these bars, however, when I got to the car, it didn’t even have the roof bars. When I asked was told that they had been ripped off in a car wash the night before. This is a highly implausible story given there was no damage to the roof.

Other issues to note:

1) I booked Airport Pickup at YYC, but found out upon arrival that this actually meant taking a shuttle from the airport to a lot with the car and getting dropped off a good walk away from the car with a lot of gear and a small child in the cold. Similar experience upon return when had I had to wait in -30 weather for -15 min with a small child for the shuttle.

Perhaps this is standard for YYC now (I was told that it now has to be contactless) but in my past experiences at YYC and in Vancouver, airport


pickup has always been right at the airport arrival in person. This added a great deal of time and frustration.


2)The car still had major hail damage as noted by prior reviews which still hasn’t been fixed.

3) Upon picking up the car, it only had a 50% charge. Once I pointed this out, they offered for me to not have to charge it upon return which happened to work out for me but may not be the ideal for others.


All in all, one or two issues could be a coincidence that I’d be happy to overlook, but when it’s one thing after another like this, it’s hard to believe that it’s all coincidental.

Upon returning the car to the Park & Jet lot, the code to enter didn’t work. I told the attendant that it was from Turo and they said to just take a ticket and leave it on the dash for the owner. So I’m hoping that this won’t lead to further issues.

The car is in great condition with paid Full Self Driving avalable to use. All the extras you might need such as snow brush, winter tires extra windshield washer fluid, electric tire pump. Pick up at the Calgary airport is supper easy and convenient (way easier than doing a traditional Avis/Hertz type car rental from the airport)
