The car itself drove well, but there were several issues during the rental that future renters should be aware of.
To start, the host was around 25 minutes late meeting us for pickup, which made the beginning of the trip more stressful than expected. The interior had clearly been cleaned, but there were noticeable stains on the ceiling, and the boot latch wasn’t working properly. The host did offer to meet us to help fix it, but given they were already late, it added more stress at the start of the journey.
During the rental, I received an Apple alert about an AirTag travelling with us. When I asked the host, I was told it had been left behind by a previous renter. However, the AirTag switched on and off multiple times during the trip, which doesn’t match that explanation. A forgotten AirTag doesn’t toggle itself, and it doesn’t suddenly deactivate only after the issue is raised.
The most concerning moment was when we parked the car early at the airport before returning it. Shortly after parking, the host messaged asking if the car was already parked. The only way they could know that is by monitoring the AirTag’s location in real time. This made it clear that the tracker wasn’t just accidentally left behind — it was actively being used to check the car’s movements. The AirTag was later switched off after I raised the issue, but it was never disclosed upfront, and the tracking behaviour was uncomfortable, especially with a toddler in the car.
The car itself was mechanically fin and easy to drive, but renters should be aware of the undisclosed tracking device, the inconsistencies around it, and the pickup and cleanliness issues.

We’re sorry you felt this way, but we’d like to clarify. Turo notified us the trip had ended and the vehicle needed to be returned, which is why we asked if it had been parked so we could retrieve it. You had selected the airport parking option. Regarding the AirTag, it was already in the vehicle from a previous rental. Bluetooth and Find My network connectivity can cause alerts to appear intermittently; this does not mean it was actively monitored or switched off by us.
Everything was a smooth process. Would definitely recommend. Host was very responsive and prompt on their responses!
