Hosts have listed thousands of vehicles on Turo. Some hosts offset the cost of car ownership and use the extra income to help cover monthly payments, insurance, and maintenance costs. Others use Turo to afford vehicles that may have otherwise been out of their price range. And some hosts build scalable and flexible businesses to take control of their financial future.
We crunched the data to find out which vehicles may be the best to start or build a business with on Turo. We used it to power the Carculator, an interactive tool aspiring entrepreneurs can use to estimate how much specific vehicles could earn on Turo.

Explore the CarculatorSome of the top-performing models on Turo are economically priced. Impressively, the best performers in the economy car group earn over double their estimated loan payments on average across the UK. They’re affordable to own, and because of their lower daily prices, they tend to secure both regular bookings and longer trips, which is excellent news for hosts who share them.
Our calculations show that the trusty Fiat Punto is the most profitable model to share on Turo in the UK. This compact supermini is a handy city car that’s user-friendly and efficient. It’s a good pick for Turo guests who simply need an affordable A-to-B car to zip them around, and it’s easy to park in tight spots. It’s not just the Fiat Punto — petite vehicles really hold their own in this category, with strong demand and significant ROI for the diminutive Vauxhall Viva and Peugeot 108, which both feature in the top 10.
Brands like Dacia and SsangYong also appear in the top 10. These value-for-money options may not be the flashiest cars on the road, but for guests who want wheels for low daily prices, these reliable, inconspicuous cars are often everything they need and can prove to be a solid investment for hosts targeting this part of the market.

There are clear traits for ROI winners in the mid-range category – cars that are fuss-free and spacious. The data shows that the Citroen C4 Spacetourer (which offers back-seat passengers extra headroom) and the eight-seated Hyundai I800 (the ideal option for staycations and days out with family and friends) are top performers. Similarly, seven-seater models do well in this category – notably the Volkswagen Sharan and Citroen Grand C4 Picasso.
Smaller luxury models also succeed in this category, with options like the Audi Q2 proving popular for ticking the small car box with a little more va va voom than some of its more affordable counterparts. Good ROI for cars like this reflect demand for guests looking to treat themselves to a premium brand when they need a small car for a weekend or a special occasion.

The analysis uses data from January 1, 2020 to June 31, 2023 for all active UK-based vehicles with model year 2016-2023 valued between £5,000 to £100,000.
For a UK-based make model to be included there must be a minimum of three distinct vehicles of that make model in the analysis.
Each make and model is then ranked based on "average annualized ROI”. The annualised return on investment (ROI) ranking model assumes a standard 60-month loan term, 8.5% interest rate, and 10% down payment on the vehicle purchase price. Earnings are based on a monthly estimation and are multiplied by 12 for annual earnings. Figures are approximate and may vary from actual monthly payments.
The figures displayed are representative of typical performance, but results and actual earnings may vary by individual vehicle, host, market area, season, and other factors.
Estimates for the monthly payments uses data provided by Glass auto pricing product to provide an estimated vehicle value.

The Turo Carculator® ranks vehicles based on "Average annualised ROI," which is the ratio of average annual vehicle earnings divided by average annual vehicle loan payments for a specific make and model in a specific region. Earnings are based on a monthly estimation and are multiplied by 12 for annual earnings. The annualised return on investment (ROI) ranking model assumes a standard 60-month loan term, 8.5% interest rate, and 10% down payment on the vehicle purchase price. Past performance does not predict future results. In some cases, the earnings figures were rounded for ease of display.
The average annual earnings represent the average Turo earnings among all UK-based vehicles where there were at least 3 distinct vehicles within each market area between 01/01/2020 and 06/31/2023. The vehicles have a value of £5,000 to £100,000 and are model years 2016-2023.
