I rented this car for 51 days, so I had plenty of time to experience it, and unfortunately there were quite a few issues.

When I first picked up the car, it only had about 1/4 tank of gas. The tire pressure warning light was also on pretty much the whole time, which was honestly a little worrying since I didn’t know if there was actually something wrong with the tires.

My biggest issue was the gas consumption. This car went through gas way faster than I expected, even when I was only driving relatively short distances. I actually planned to keep the rental for the whole month of September, but I ended up cancelling the extension mainly because I was spending way too much on gas. After driving it for over a month, the fuel consumption just didn’t seem normal to me.

There was also an issue with the key fob battery. A few times I had trouble unlocking the car, and eventually the battery basically stopped working. The host did offer to replace it, but I would have had to drive all the way to Surrey just to get it changed. Considering how much gas the car was already using, I didn’t want to make that trip just for a key battery, so I ended up buying one and replacing it myself.

What really left a bad impression was what happened after I returned the car. Right after the trip ended, the host messaged me saying they noticed “some big damages around the car,” but didn’t explain what the damages were or give me any details at the time. Using the words “big damages” without even saying what they were referring to felt very exaggerated and unnecessary.

Overall, after renting this car for 51 days, I personally wouldn’t rent it again.
