The car was not properly maintained and ran out of coolant, causing the engine to overheat and break down in the middle of nowhere. It became completely undrivable, leaving me stranded and massively disrupting an already busy and time-sensitive trip. This should never happen with a rental, basic maintenance like checking coolant levels is non-negotiable. Extremely frustrating experience.
