This is the first time I’ve had such a terrible experience renting a car. When I first got the car, the A/C wasn’t working. I notified the host immediately- no response to it until 2 days later, after a reminder message being sent. It was brutal driving it in the heat and rainy weather, couldn’t even pull down the windows much. When we drove it at night, we noticed only the right headlight was working faintly, the left one wasn’t working at all. I had to turn on the high beam on/off on the highway to be able to see in front of me as other drivers were honking and flashing their lights to notify me. This is a huge safety issue. I informed the host and he said that “it happens” and that “it was working perfectly fine before I got the car”. When I asked to be reimbursed for the safety issue and inconveniences throughout the whole trip, he said that I could fill the car half the tank as long as I give a 5-star rating, otherwise he would charge me for gas.
