This was by far the worst Turo experience I’ve had.
The vehicle I received had serious safety issues that made it uncomfortable and, in my opinion, unsafe to drive. The condition of the car did not match my expectations, and I reported the problems immediately.
What made the experience even worse was the communication afterward. The host repeatedly promised a refund, saying it would be processed in a few business days, then delayed it multiple times. When the refund still hadn’t been received, I was asked to keep waiting again. Instead of resolving the issue promptly, the conversation became focused on what kind of review I would leave.
The host even asked whether I would leave a 1-star review if I wasn’t sent the money, and later accused me of “extortion tactics” simply because I said I would leave an honest review after the issue was resolved. I never asked for money in exchange for a positive review—I only wanted the promised refund to be honored before considering the matter closed.
Overall, this experience involved a vehicle with significant issues, poor communication, repeated delays regarding a promised refund, and an unprofessional handling of customer concerns. I cannot recommend renting from this host and would strongly advise future renters to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before driving and document everything.
