While the host was polite and apologized for the friction because it was only her second time renting out the vehicle, the overall experience was quite disorganized. The check-in was delayed because I was initially handed the wrong keys, and there was a misunderstanding regarding Turo's privacy policies when her sister insisted on taking a photo of my physical driver's license with a personal cell phone.
Additionally, the car was quite dirty when I picked it up, and the fuel tank was already missing a bar. I replaced the fuel I actually consumed and provided a receipt, but the host still requested an additional fuel charge afterward. It was a stressful experience for a short rental, but hopefully, these are just growing pains as she learns the platform.
