We rented a car from Doris for our vacation in Montreal. Even before arriving in Montreal, we had pleasant and helpful communication. The car was delivered and picked up on time. Gabriel was fantastic to work with, and we loooooved the car! We rented the car for 11 days and thoroughly enjoyed driving with the top down through the mountains. The car handles great, accelerates great, and the top is quick to pop up and down depending upon weather. We were able to easily fit a large checked bag (backseat), a carry-on, two backpacks, and groceries. Plus two adults. Gabriel’s car was much more fun than the average convertibles rented by traditional car rental agencies and an only fraction of the cost. Thank you, Gabriel!

We had a great experience! The car was exactly as shown in the photos and description. It was very comfortable to drive, handled really well, and had excellent fuel economy, which was a big plus during our trip. Everything with the car worked perfectly. The pickup location was easy to access and conveniently close to the airport. Al was an amazing host — very friendly, respectful, and helpful throughout the entire rental. Communication was always easy and he was available whenever we needed anything. Overall, a great experience. We would definitely rent from Al again and highly recommend him!
The car was great on fuel and the rental process was easy. While the sound system wasn't the best and it's got some nicks and dings (it's a 2015!), this car offered great value for the money and I'd be happy to rent this (or another vehicle) from Nate again!
The car was phenomenal, in great condition, you could tell it was properly maintained! It was clean and very smooth to drive. I’ve been renting vehicles for a while with other companies but this was by far the best vehicle I’ve driven. Also the host was super easy to deal with, Italo is great host, cares a lot about the vehicle but most importantly the renter! He has made my trip easier and fun.

Steve was an outstanding host! He was incredibly kind, flexible, and easy to communicate with from start to finish. He adjusted both the pickup location and return time to make things much more convenient for us, and when an unexpected issue came up with the originally reserved vehicle, he went above and beyond to make sure we still had a car and could enjoy our trip without disruption. Where is Turo available?
Turo is the world’s largest peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace where you can book directly from trusted local hosts in thousands of cities across Canada, the US, UK, Australia, and France.
What do I need to rent a car on Turo?
To rent a car on Turo, you must create a Turo account, have a valid driver’s license, get approved to drive on Turo, and be 18 years old or older in the US, 21 years old or older in Australia, or 23 years old or older in Canada.
In the UK, you must be 21 years old or older and have held a UK or EU license for at least one year, or another driver’s license for at least two years. In France, you must be 18 years old or older and have held a driver’s license for at least 2 years, longer for certain makes and models of vehicles.
When you’re booking your first trip, you’ll go through a quick approval process by entering your driver’s license and some other information. In most cases, you’ll get approved immediately, and you’ll be set for all future road trips, day trips, and business trips!
Do I need my own insurance?
No, you don’t need personal insurance coverage to rent a car on Turo.
When booking a car in Canada, you’ll choose between three protection plans — Premier, Standard, or Minimum — and with each plan, you’re covered with liability insurance purchased from Economical Insurance Company in Alberta, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador, and Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) in British Columbia — up to $2,000,000 for all plans.*
Can other people drive a car that I rented?
Yes, multiple guests can drive the car you rent on Turo, as long as they are all approved to drive. The primary driver (whoever rented the car) can add additional drivers without any fees or additional charges. Only the primary driver can request to add drivers; Turo hosts cannot do it for you. We encourage you to request to add additional drivers before your trip starts, though guests can request to add a driver while a trip is in progress.
To speed up the process, have your additional driver create a Turo account and get approved to drive before you request to add them. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and meet the age requirements for the car you’ve booked. You can request to add drivers via the “Trips” tab in the Turo app without additional driver charges or extra costs.
What is the cancellation policy for guests on Turo?
You can cancel and get a full refund up to 24 hours before your trip starts, unless you opt to receive a non-refundable trip discount when you book. If you book a trip with less than 24 hours’ notice, you have one hour after booking to cancel free of charge. If you cancel after the free cancellation period ends, you will be charged a cancellation fee.
In the rare event a host cancels, you’ll be notified immediately so you can book another car, or we’ll help you find one. Your refund can be temporarily held to expedite rebooking, or the funds can be returned to your bank account — your choice.
What happens if I have an accident?
If there’s an emergency or an issue with the car, call our emergency roadside assistance provider. They are there to help you get back on your way.
Can I get my car delivered to me?
Yes, many hosts offer delivery to travel hubs like airports, train stations, and hotels, or to custom delivery locations. There are cars available on Turo near hundreds of airports, or you can have your car delivered for pickup and return at your hotel or vacation rental to save time and hassle. Some hosts offer free delivery, while others set their own delivery fee.
How do I get discounts when renting a car?
Many Turo hosts offer discounted prices for weekly and monthly trips so you can get the best deals and lowest rates possible by booking longer trips.
