Soundtracks for your favorite destinations

If you’re like us, you’re itching to set off on a nice long road trip to stretch your legs and your soul. Maybe you’ve got your eye on some national parks, or maybe you’re ready to go visit your parents. Maybe you could use a tan…

For now, most places still have strict shelter-in-place ordinances in effect. But hope is on the horizon and the weather is warming up! To fuel your wanderlust and give you fodder for daydreams, we put together some road trip playlists that perfectly set the mood for future adventures. The playlists are inspired by landscapes we can’t wait to go explore again. Have you already been thinking about places to visit when it’s safe to do so? Where will you go first?

Beach

The sun has been looking mighty fine lately. Hopefully everyone out there is getting enough vitamin D! If you don’t live near an accessible beach, let these warm, tropical vibes transport you to the carefree sands of summer.

Mountains

If winding forest roads, a cozy campfire, and a stocked tackle box are more what you’re looking forward to, fire up these backcountry-friendly tunes to embrace the spirit of the open road and the great outdoors. With plenty of classic road trip jams for a hearty singalong (or a quiet night at the cabin), this is the soundtrack to pair with bugs hitting the windshield.

Desert

The desert is the ultimate landscape for escapism. Though many American deserts burst with towering cacti and red rock formations, they’re still barren places to get away from everything. But the isolation breeds reflection and discovery, and the emptiness begs to be filled with the sounds of dusty throwbacks and meandering ballads.
