Take a break with these pretty pictures
Every few Fridays, we like to bring you moments of zen in the form of some of our favorite motorcars from around the Turo marketplace. Let’s keep the fun going. We like cars, you like cars, so let’s look at some cars.
The M2 is the baby of BMW’s M division. The coupe’s limited dimensions, however, do not mean it lacks in performance. The M2, redesigned last year for 2023, has long been praised by drivers for its mix of force and agility, and this newest version is the most potent yet. It uses the same twin-turbo inline-six found in the larger and more expensive M3, just detuned by 20 horsepower (453 horses). The result is 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, and when you add elite handling, a standard manual transmission, and relative usability for everyday driving, the M2 was named Motortrend’s 2024 Performance Vehicle of the Year.
Meet Bashar’s 2024 M2. This one’s a bit special — it has the optional M Performance exhaust, which moves the quad exhaust tips to the center, sheds about 18 pounds of weight with a titanium rear silencer, and incorporates electrically controlled flaps so you can customize your level of roar. This small-but-mighty BMW also has the optional carbon fiber aero kit, adding black fins and blades along the sides for an even more aggressive effect. Not everyone’s into that look, but it does communicate that this car means business.
The M2 is everything enthusiasts say they want. Immense power, communicative handling, and daily drivability in a compact, rear-wheel drive coupe. Bashar’s M2 has the eight-speed automatic transmission, but the model comes standard with a stick shift. Though the back seats are probably only fit for children, the interior materials are top notch. And the driver’s seat is where you want to be anyway.
