Take a break with these pretty pictures
Every few Fridays, we like to bring you moments of zen in the form of some of our favorite motorcars from around the Turo marketplace. Let’s keep the fun going. We like cars, you like cars, so let’s look at some cars.
The GT is the closest thing to a grand touring car that McLaren makes (hence, “GT”), which means it’s designed to be practical and comfortable on public roads for long journeys. Compared to the rest of the McLaren lineup, it is that, sort of. A roomy cabin, fairly generous cargo space, leather upholstery, and an electrochromatic glass roof that can change opacity levels are some comfort-oriented items you don’t typically get in a McLaren supercar. Though it does present as a civilized, best-of-both-worlds road tripper, the GT is still very much a supercar.
This 2023 McLaren GT’s twin-turbo 4.0L V8 makes a monstrous 612 horsepower, bringing this sleek black rocket ship to 60 mph in a blistering 2.8 seconds. That immense acceleration, plus McLaren’s claimed top speed of 203 mph, definitely makes the GT a supercar. It comes with the requisite selection of driving modes to dial up and down the sportiness, so while it draws heavily on McLaren’s racing pedigree, the GT is still the best option for around-town cruising and impressing onlookers with those excellent dihedral doors.
