Take a break with these pretty pictures
Every few Fridays we like to bring you moments of zen in the form of some of our favorite motorcars from around the Turo marketplace. Let’s keep the fun going. We like cars, you like cars, so let’s look at some cars.
On its face, the Mercedes-Benz EQB seems a fairly ordinary luxury SUV. Its boxy good looks, warm leather-trimmed interior, and capable infotainment offerings feel familiar. And that’s because it’s a near-copy of its gas-powered counterpart, the GLB-Class. The EQB is Mercedes’ first-ever electric SUV — an important early model from the fledgling Mercedes EQ sub-brand.
Its ordinariness, though, is perhaps its greatest strength. As the EV market has exploded, an impressive swathe of headline-making, pricey electric models have hit the market. Jumping into the electric lifestyle with a futuristic, high-powered toy isn’t for everyone, so the EQB should be able to lure luxury SUV buyers to EVs with minimal effort.

A handful of visual cues set it apart as an EV, but the EQB’s interior controls and infotainment are identical to the GLB’s excellent setup. Of course, it runs on a battery — its 250 miles per charge isn’t industry-leading but should be plenty for most uses, and Mercedes-Benz quality and comfort will ultimately be the main draw. Devon in the Atlanta area had the first Mercedes EQB listed on Turo, so give him a shout to see how easy switching to electric can be.
