About the event
The lucky folks who find and book the special EVs will celebrate like space cowboys at a unique event at a beautiful ranch, located just under two hours from Austin, Texas. You’ll get to view the annular solar eclipse, also known as a “ring of fire,” from one of the prime viewing locations in the country. Plus, enjoy food, drinks, and live music from local artists.
All guests will be given eclipse glasses to safely watch the eclipse and Turo-branded swag to take home. Like dressing up? Space cowboy attire is encouraged!
The event on Saturday, October 14 is from 9:30 am to 2 pm CT. In this part of central Texas, the eclipse itself will start at 10:22 am and end at 1:30 pm, with annularity (when you’ll be able to see the “ring of fire”) lasting a few minutes around 11:50 am.

About the eclipse
An annular solar eclipse, also known as a “ring of fire,” happens when the smaller-appearing moon passes directly between the sun and the Earth. During the eclipse, the moon looks like a dark disk in front of the sun, creating a glowing ring around the moon.
The path of the annular eclipse will pass through southern Oregon, the northeastern corner of California, northern Nevada, southern Utah, from the northwestern to the southeastern corners of New Mexico, and across a band of southern Texas. Anyone in the eclipse’s path will have a chance to see the eclipse if the skies are clear.
How to safely view the eclipse
A friendly reminder to anyone who wants to watch the eclipse to protect your eyes. Wear solar eclipse glasses or put a solar filter in front of your camera, telescope, or binoculars to help avoid damaging your eyes. Alternatively, if you don’t have eclipse glasses you can make a pinhole projector or look at the shadow on the ground cast by a colander, leaves, or your interlaced fingers.
