Take a break with these pretty pictures

Every few Fridays, we like to bring you moments of zen in the form of some of our favorite motorcars from around the Turo marketplace. Let’s keep the fun going. We like cars, you like cars, so let’s look at some cars.

The Lamborghini Urus stormed onto the scene in 2019, offering the exotic, high-octane experience you expect from Lamborghini in SUV form. Since then, the SUV arms race has really taken off, with a number of brands offering unbelievable performance in their largest cars, and electric SUVs taking rapid acceleration to another level. Last year, Lambo introduced the Urus Performante, a more hardcore, race-inspired variant that broke the Pikes Peak SUV record in 2022.

So what makes the Peacock’s 2023 Urus Performante quicker than the standard version? It has the same engine and power as the Urus S — 657 horses from a twin-turbo V8. Sounds like plenty. But Lambo has taken out some weight and swapped the height-adjustable air suspension for stiff coil springs, lowering the stance for better aerodynamics. There’s also some reworked differential systems and more aggressive tires.

All of this amounts to a three-second zero-to-60 time and more cornering performance than you’d ever need in an SUV. If you’re someone who can own a Lamborghini, though, this 4,700-pound SUV would not be your track toy. So what’s it really for? Doesn’t matter! It’s a fast Lamborghini that has been made even faster, harder, and more special. More is the name of the game with Lambo, and this Urus Performante certainly offers that.
