I bought this truck because I was tired of renting the Home Depot trucks for every little project around the house. If you're reading this, you might be in the same position—tired of calling ahead, waiting in line behind four guys renting those sweet tile saws, then trying to get everything done in 4 hours so you can return it.
So, instead, I have this truck. And it makes sense to offer it up to other people that might need an occasional truck but aren't dumb enough to actually go out and buy one.
It's pretty simple - a 2011 F150 with the 5.0-liter V8 engine in Lariat trim. It has the 6.5-foot bed, which is nice if you need it to actually carry things. It also has the odd little rear doors that open out instead of the more dignified full four-door models. The rear seats fit kids easily, and you can also pack full-size adults back there if their comfort is a low priority. It has a hard shell bed cover that can be reconfigured depending on what you need to haul.
Overall, this is an honest truck that's kept in good shape. The Lariat trim brings heated and cooled seats, an upgraded sound system, leather seats, and I'm sure other things I haven't noticed. Most importantly, the inside is clean. I travel a lot for work, so I'm all-to familiar with rental cars with mystery stains and dirty windows. The truck will be clean inside and out when you get it.
