The car will need to be in the same clean condition (washed and vacuumed) as when it was delivered to avoid a cleaning fee. You can also return the car hassle free by prepaying cleaning for $45/trip. Prepaid cleaning fee does not cover upholstery cleaning, spills, stains, pet hair, excessive sand, mud or smoke removal. 4. Please follow all traffic laws and parking regulations. You will be responsible for any tickets. If you get towed, you will be responsible for all fees. ***PLEASE ENSURE YOU READ AND AGREE TO OUR GUIDELINES PRIOR TO BOOKING THIS VEHICLE*** **if link does not work, copy and paste to search engine bar or address bar** ***Vehicle Guidelines*** - Turo’s policy requires that the vehicle is returned in the same clean condition it was received in unless "Post-trip Cleaning" is purchased as an "Extra". Faqs

  • Do I have to clean the car at the end of a trip?

Guests aren’t expected to clean or disinfect the car upon return, though if you return the car in a condition that requires moderate, heavy or severe cleaning you may be charged a cleaning fee. (See cleaning levels table in the Cleaning and disinfection policy). To avoid fees, vacuum up excessive DIRT, SAND, or crumbs, wipe up any sticky spots or SPILLS, and check the exterior for any significant dirt or mud that may need to be washed off.

  • What happens if I don’t clean the car?

If you return the car significantly dirtier, the host may request a cleaning reimbursement fee. Cleaning fees range from up to $50 for moderate cleaning to a maximum of $250*, depending on severity. They include an administrative fee of up to $25. Hosts have up to 72 hours after a trip’s end to request reimbursement for cleaning. We suggest you take multiple interior and exterior photos of the car at check-in and checkout and upload those pictures to Trip Photos. This allows us to fairly resolve any cleaning reimbursement requests. Read detailed information about documenting a vehicle’s condition. If you book a trip with a Commercial Host, they’ll contact you directly to collect any cleaning costs. Some hosts offer a Cleaning Extra, which would allow you to return the car without cleaning it. Learn more about adding Extras to your trip. Read our Cleaning and disinfection policy to learn your rights and responsibilities when it comes to receiving and returning a clean car.

  • Paying for missing fuel or low battery charge

If you don’t replace the gas, your host can invoice you for the cost to replace the missing fuel plus a $10* convenience fee. If you don’t fully recharge an electric vehicle, your host can charge you $10*–$50*, depending on the charge level. You’re also responsible for any Tesla Supercharger and Idle fees incurred during the trip. See the Battery level refueling costs below. If you left the car plugged in at a charging station, you’re responsible for those costs up to 24 hours after the trip ends. Hosts have 72 hours after a trip ends to send you a reimbursement invoice for fuel costs. If they do, we’ll notify you via email and display a notification in your Turo activity feed. You have 48 hours to pay or dispute the invoice. Click on the link in the email or notification or open Trip details for the trip in question to view the invoice. Then tap “Accept and pay” or “Dispute.” If you’ve purchased “Prepaid refueling” as an Extra, your host can’t request reimbursement, and you can’t request a refund for any unused fuel. If you’ve booked a trip with a Commercial Host, they’re unable to invoice you for incidental costs via Turo and will contact you directly to resolve any reimbursement issues.

  • What do I do if I’m running late?

You’re expected to return your host’s car on time. If there’s any chance of a late return, you must request an extension via Turo as soon as possible. Contact your host about the request so they can respond quickly. Don’t make or agree to any verbal or off-Turo extension arrangements with your host. Process all trip modifications through Turo. Other arrangements are not valid and may result in a penalty fee. You won’t be able to extend your trip if your host or vehicle is unavailable, you have insufficient funds, or your host doesn’t respond to or denies your request. If that happens, you must return the vehicle at the originally scheduled end time. If you’re excessively late, your host may charge for additional usage, and you may be responsible for the related fees listed below. 0-29 minutes late: No charge 30 minutes to 1 hour 59 minutes late: ½ the average daily trip price; $50* improper return fee at Turo’s discretion** 2 hours or more late: Average daily trip price for 1 day + $20* late return fee; $50* improper return fee at Turo’s discretion** *Values are in CAD for Canada, £ for the UK, and in US$ for the US and all other countries. **Improper return fee may be charged if the guest is unresponsive, abandons the vehicle, causes a trip cancelation, or other reasons determined by Turo.

  • Can other people drive a car that I booked?

Yes, multiple guests can drive the car you book on Turo, as long as they are all approved to drive. The primary driver (whoever booked the car) can add additional drivers before or during a trip for no additional cost.

  • Will I have to pay a Young Driver fee? How much will it be?

Whether you’ll pay a Young Driver fee and how much depends on your age, your location, and the kind of vehicle you book. If you book a trip with a Commercial Host, they may have different age restrictions for young drivers and may charge different fees. Read the vehicle listing in full to discover this information. *United States* The following Young Driver fees apply to guests in the United States who book with a peer-to-peer host: Guests under the age of 26 must pay a Young Driver fee. Guests ages 18-20 pay a minimum fee of $50/day. Guests ages 21-25 pay a minimum fee of $30/day.

  • How old do I have to be to book a car on Turo?

*United States* The following age requirements and vehicle restrictions apply to guests in the United States: You must be 18 or older to book with a peer-to-peer host and 21 or older to book with a Commercial Host. Guests who book with peer-to-peer hosts can choose a protection plan through Turo. Guests ages 18-21 who book with a peer-to-peer host must choose either the Minimum or the Standard protection plan. They can’t decline a protection plan nor can they choose a plan other than one of these two. Guests ages 22 or older who book with a peer-to-peer host can choose the Premier, Standard, or Minimum protection plan or they can choose to Decline protection. Guests who book with Commercial Hosts will be offered commercial rental insurance by their host. If you are under the age of 21, you can’t book a car with a total market value of more than $20k. You must be 25 or older to book a Deluxe Class car. You must be 30 or older to book a Super Deluxe Class car or a specialty vehicle.
