For starters, the Rivian R1T was the Motor Trend Truck of the year in 2023. And it lives up to the hype. It’s a beautifully designed and meticulously built vehicle. More than a truck. For instance, it seats 5 comfortably. Then, it has an array of sophisticated tech features including energy management, suspension and ride modes, sophisticated GPS as well as security and theft enhancements. Not to mention, it’s amazingly comfortable. That said, when called on, this Quad motor beast will get up and move its 7000 LB curb weight from 0-60 Mph in about 3.6 seconds. It’s startling. And I know everyone who rents this truck will floor it at least once. Just be careful. Despite that, it’s super fun to drive around town. Smooth, comfortable, ridiculously quiet and it has an amazing sound system. As for its range, it can go roughly 310 miles (depending how and where you drive it). In other words, it has various drive modes including “Conserve mode”, which disengages the rear 2 motors. It also has re-gen braking. So let’s say you go East (uphill) to Tahoe. That takes more energy than heading back down. Plus every time you let off on the accelerator on the way down you engage the re-gen braking which charges the battery a little. IOW, you’ll be reclaiming mileage with braking going downhill. But you probably already understand that if you understand EV’s. More tech stuff: This R1T is a Quad-Motor AWD. It has some sophisticated drive train modes including ride height and suspension settings including Snow, Sport and Rock crawler mode, etc. Unfortunately, Turo guidelines forbid off road use. And towing. So don’t go there. The on board cameras are smart and they record misbehavior. Nevertheless, please have fun experimenting with the different suspension options and testing them out to see what you think. “Sport mode” for instance is pretty stiff ride-wise, not much fun when you hit a speed bump but the cornering characteristics of the truck improve significantly when you select this mode. Suffice it to say, you’ll enjoy driving this R1T under virtually any driving condition. As for charging, as we all know, it’s a bit of a patchwork of charging options out there. I strongly recommend you put a few apps on your phone including Chargepoint, Electrify America, etc. You’ll need to link your own credit card to those apps of course. On the other hand, Rivian has its own network but for now, it’s not particularly expansive. However, the chargers are well maintained and if you choose to use the Rivian system, just plugging in with it will recognize my R1V and I’ll see the charge when you're finished so I can pass it on to you. Very soon, of course Tesla charging will be compatible with Rivian but it’s not quite here yet. Supposedly, adapters are going out to owners soon although I've only heard of a few people who have them. Something else, you must be 25+ to book this vehicle. Other things I can add to the rental package to make it more enjoyable: 2 awesome Lectric XR 3.0 Ebikes. Made by Lectric. Only $45/day to rent them from me (Sports Basement charges you $65). Great design. Peddle assist up to about 45 miles of range. With throttle only the bikes will go about 20 miles. Batteries are 48V 10.4Ah. You can fold up the bikes and put them in the bed of the truck or put them on the hitch mounted rack I will provide with the bikes. Plug them into the truck if you’re at a camp site. Note, you must sign an additional waiver if you’d like to rent the bikes. I’ll have the waivers with me when I give you the key to the truck. The Rivian comes with a FasTrak transponder. Easily go across bridges and toll roads. Once I receive the charge on my account, I’ll pass it on to you I have 2 car seats for the Rivian. The brand is Chicco MyFit. They are well made, very safe and good for up to a 60lb. child. Note: The truck will be at or around 200 miles of range on the battery (or about 70%). The reason it's not fully charged (you can charge it up to 100% to prepare for a long trip) is that a daily limit of 70% is better for prolonging battery life. Please return the R1T with the same charge you started with (quite a few fast chargers near me. Easy to do) unless you've purchased prepaid charging. If you decide to go with pre-paid charging it will be a flat $25 to cover fast re-charging for my next customer. Also If the truck is returned dirty including sun tan lotion of arm rests (it’s the worst) there will be a cleaning fee added. No smoking allowed AT ALL. ($200 cleaning fee) No pets please unless otherwise agreed upon. Here’s the overview on the Rivian R1T again: • Quad Motor All-Wheel Drive • Long Range Battery: EPA estimated 315mi • 21" Road Tires (NO Off-Roading or Towing permitted due to liability) • Max Storage: Frunk (front trunk), Gear Tunnel • Dark Grey Interior • Premium Rivian Audio • Alexa Voice commands • Built-in navigation including route planning for charging locations • Heated and cooled front seats. Heated rear seats • Gear Guard for additional security when parked • Wireless charging/docking. But please bring your own USB-C cables Prepaid EV recharge Save time and make drop off a breeze by adding this Extra, which allows you to return my car without fully recharging. Please return with at least 30 miles of range. This will cost you $25. Airport pick up or drop off. Depending on whether it’s SFO or San Jose, I am happy to help you out. Just $25 if I pick you up at San Jose Airport and $50 if I pick you up at SFO. I can make arrangements to leave the vehicle at a parking facility if you'd like and remotely unlock it. PARKING DETAILS There is lots of guest parking readily available at 470 Portrero if you choose to meet me there. Your vehicle is safe to leave overnight. It’s where I recharge the Rivian. Photos, photos, photos We both need to take pictures during pick-up to ensure both parties are covered. Follow the Turo guidelines. Please shoot for enough photos that cover the entirety of the car. Front, back, sides, each wheel, interior, truck bed, and anything else you want to make sure you aren't charged for after your trip! Be sure to capture any preexisting dents, scratches, or dirt. Feel free to ask any questions about the condition of the vehicle when you arrive. Once again , no off-Roading & Towing permitted with Turo rentals. That means no unmarked trails, no sand cruising, no rock crawling, or wading into high waters, and so on. Dirt/gravel/cobblestone roads are fine. Also there is no hauling (will eat into your charge and is also not permitted by Turo), this truck is intended for fun in the sun or snow, not hauling for a renovation. Do not exceed 95 MPH for any reason at any time. The vehicle is trackable via GPS and the owner may be notified via the Rivian app if the driver exceeds my capped speed. Renter/Driver is responsible for all legal violations including but not limited to Parking Tickets and Moving Violations. Speed may be limited if found to be driving recklessly.
This exclusive car has additional safety checks for guests under 30.

$25/trip
I can deliver the Rivian to SFO or San Jose Airport if you'd like but I'll charge $25. Generally, I keep the truck in a patrolled parking lot where I work. I can remotely unlock the truck when I have confirmed you're there. I will also let you know where the key is once the truck is unlocked.
No smoking. No off roading with the Rivian. There you go, a couple of simple rules.
