Meet Happy! She is a low-maintenance, low-mileage, no-frills long-bed ready to haul your gear up to the mountains for the weekend or haul your household across town. Plus, she’s an AMAZING color. She’s got an automatic transmission, takes regular, unleaded gas, has manual locks, crank-handles on the windows, an AM/FM radio and a CD player (for a bit of nostalgia). She only seats 2 humans. Dogs are welcome if you vacuum out the hair. She comes with a USB charger, cables to charge most devices, and a couple of hands-free mount options so you can safely use your phone for navigation. She will be sanitized between rentals and stocked with hand sanitizer and wipes in case you need either while you are out and about. Please check out the other options I have available in case you need supplemental items while using the truck. Contactless key pick-up and drop off is available using a coded lockbox. Parking is always easy in my neighborhood. AC transit drops off two blocks away, or delivery options are also listed. I will do my best to accommodate based on timing. Please return Happy on time, in the same condition as you found her. Same amount of gas, same general level of cleanliness on the outside and spotless inside. Well, she's never going to be "spotless." She is a little dinged up and showing her age a bit after 10 years in the forestry service which is where she was before I adopted her. It is all cosmetic. Minor scrapes, scratches, or bits of dirt in the bed do not matter (perfect for a work truck, right?). She has a stellar maintenance record, runs great and is easy to find in a crowded IKEA parking lot (watch the clearance height in parking garages. She’s tall!) Never driven a truck or other big vehicle before?? NO PROBLEM! This is an extremely easy truck to drive, and I live in a residential area with wide, lazy streets so you can cruise around and get comfortable with the size, steering and sightlines before getting into traffic. Otherwise, there are two main things to know 1: think ahead about your route and parking (this truck is not always easy to maneuver on narrow, crowded streets) and 2: other people are idiots. I am happy to explain that last point if you are renting Happy. Now the “no-no’s”: - NO TOWING is allowed by Turo.* - NO SNOW TIRES or SNOW CHAINS are provided – so make sure of road conditions and weather forecast before heading into the mountains in the winter. - Late returns are not accepted at all. Happy must be home no later than the time indicated in the Trip. If you are running behind, please modify the Trip to avoid extra charges and liability.* - Cats are strictly forbidden (host is allergic). --*These are both mentioned because of the insurance restrictions.
