Mahalo, Heather *********Airport Delivery ********* As you may or may not know, in April 2022 the State of Hawaii banned Turo affiliated cars from the airports. For the past few months Turo has been working hard to come up with a solution to this dilemma. Now, Turo has a solution for delivering to Lihue Airport (LIH). Starting July 25, 2022, Turo cars will be able to park at a dedicated area at Kukui Grove Center (behind Target) and a courtesy shuttle will take guests to and from the airport. The courtesy shuttle will run every half an hour to and from Lihue Airport from 7am to 10:45 pm daily. For guests outside of these times, I will work with you on setting up alternative pickups and drop offs at the airport. To help make sure that only Turo guests ride the shuttle, the shuttle driver will be asking everyone to show their Turo reservation before boarding. This will be the new protocol going forward with any bookings at Lihue Airport. At Lihue Airport: The first pickup at Lihue Airport will be at 7am. Every half an hour guests will be picked up and dropped off at the shuttle area by baggage claim B. There is only one pickup and drop off location. Baggage Claim B arrivals: As you exit the baggage claim walk to the right for about 10 yards to the end of the cement and you are there. Baggage Claim A arrivals: As you exit the baggage claim turn right and walk to the end of the airport to the shuttle area past baggage claim B. At the Turo Parking Lot: When returning the car at the end of your trip, you will be returning the car at the Turo parking lot behind Target and driven back to the airport on the shuttle. Please give yourself ample time to catch the shuttle, check-in at the airport and go through TSA to make sure you get to your flight smoothly. The last shuttle will leave Kukui Grove around 10:45pm. When dropping off the car, please make sure to fill up the gas. I don’t require guests to clean the car before returning it, however, anything excessive will be an additional charge. Some examples that have happened included: food smashed into seats; mud and dirt smeared on the ceilings, into the seats and on the windows; and copious amounts of sand. When arriving at the parking lot, please park in a parking stall marked with a letter and number. The car will have a lockbox or keypad on the driver’s door. The codes to the lockbox or keypad will be shared during correspondence prior to the start of your trip, this same protocol will be used to drop off and secure the car. Lihue, HI 96766 (Parking lot behind Target) Considerations: During busy times, space on the shuttle will be limited. If you have a large party and there aren’t enough seats for other guests, Turo asks that only the primary driver and one additional person use the shuttle, pick up the vehicle, then drive back for the remaining guests in your party.
